Cheap pesticide, costly harvest: Kids genetically poisoned in India

Cheap, effective and highly toxic Endosulfan pesticide is banned in most countries, but still widely embraced by farmers in India. While the government claims there is no affordable alternative to the chemical, families are paying a high price. Until recently, India was one of the few countries in the world that allowed the use of Endosulfan. The agriculture ministry says there is no other cheap alternative to the powerful pesticide. But finally, after mounting pressure at home and abroad, the Supreme Court voted on an eight-week ban on the pesticide which is set to expire in mid-July. The use of the pesticide has resulted in serious consequences, with a whole generation of children suffering devastating health problems. RT on Facebook: www.facebook.com RT on Twitter: twitter.com

DIY MOSQUITO CONTROL pesticide FREE mosquito control Solar Powered Fan West Nile Virus

Using a Maxx Air Flow fan 24", the Orange one from The Home Depot $99 (EXCELLENT FANS) You can clean an area in a few nights breaking an uncontrolled population cycle. This option requires 250 watts of electricity but does not require any pesticides. The screens serve a dual purpose, they also collect dust and fine particulates and eventually form a mat of air junk. The screen provides an easy cleaning option and prevents dire from entering the bearings of the induction motor. The solar option uses a 27 watt blower fan and works great for pigeon and chicken coops, animal kennels and outdoor porches. Place the fans near infested or high traffic areas. KEEP FANS DRY, no rain. Always Unplug when servicing screens or moving. Place the inlet side towards people or animals so you suck the mosquitos away. This also sucks in carbon dioxide creating an attraction trail for the mosquitos to follow sticking them to the back of the fan:-) I have a few more options in the works: WATER COLLECTION NESTS By placing leaves and yard debris in the bottom of a container and filling it with water, the leaves decompose and provide an attractive spot for mosquitos to place their larvae. Once visible, you MUST collect the larvae with a fine fish net and dry them in the sun. This option prevent mosquitos from nesting in ditches and other areas where you cannot stop the cycle. YOU MUST clean daily or you create a mosquito farm. BATS: I have a DIY VIDEO on how to build a bat house and tips on ...

Preferred Pesticides for Bed Bug Treatment

In this episode Jeff will discuss the pesticides that he and BedBug Central are using in their bed bug treatment protocols. Please keep in mind that it is not his intention to sell anyone on a specific pesticide. There are many pesticides available that may have similar effects to the examples mentioned in this video and a company not using these pesticides does not mean they have chosen poorly. Also, most of the products mentioned in this video are intended to be used by pest control professionals. If a non-licensed individual decided to purchase any of the examples mentioned and apply them on their own, please follow all label directions carefully and review any laws that are specific to your individual state. For a liquid residual we are currently alternating service to service Transport GHP and Demand CS in an effort to optimize the effect of these products while trying to manage and resistance concerns. For dusts, we use Tri-Die and Diatomaceous Earth. Please watch the video for more information on why we chose each product and any concerns we have with each.

www.biobees.com CCD is caused by pesticides. Specifically, neonicotinoids in a synergistic combination that is yet to be fully understood. That is the alarming conclusion that scientists are finally coming to, despite attempts by the pesticide manufacturers to distract, divert and even blackmail them into finding some other culprit. Clothianidin, Imidacloprid and other neocicotinoids must be withdrawn from use IMMEDIATELY or our bees are assuredly doomed.

Back To Nature? Pesticides

Pesticides: Advertisements by chemical and "lawn care" companies assure us that their products will bring us "back to nature," when in fact, they destroy nature. Many communities across the country have banned the use of lawn pesticides, based on research that strongly suggests that they are hazardous to humans, animals and the eco-system. In most neighborhoods, a day rarely goes by that several people aren't spraying chemicals on their lawns or bushes, allowing "chemical drift" to poison adjoining properties. Over the past few decades, lawn care companies have subtly implied that a weedless lawn is a sign of status. But, little or no attention is paid to the vast amount of damage to the ground water and the eco-system in general. They have also forced people to become dependent upon their products, because natural predators of insect life have either been killed or driven away for lack of food. On a futher note, chemical companies are required by law to list only their active ingredients and not inert ingredients which some consider as dangerous as those listed. Stop the unnecessary use of pesticides! www.cqs.com

Pesticide Exposure and ADHD in Children

Dr. Dana Boyd Barr discusses a recent study published in the journal Pediatrics on the link between pesticide exposure and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. Background The study measured the levels of pesticide byproducts in the urine of 1139 children from across the United States. Children with above-average levels of one common byproduct had roughly twice the odds of getting a diagnosis of ADHD. The study, which Dr. Barr wasn't a part of, analyzed national nutrition data as well as data from Barr's former lab at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where she worked for more than 20 years researching pesticides. Stop the Dangerous Pesticide Methyl Iodide for use on Strawberries & Fruit orchards

Methyl iodide is a chemical so toxic that it's used in lab settings to grow cancer cells. The substance also reportedly causes late-term miscarriages and groundwater contamination. Yet despite these known (and frightening!) risks, an onslaught of public outcry, and opposition from reputable scientists including six Nobel Laureates, California's Department of Pesticide Regulation (CDPR) recently registered methyl iodide as a pesticide "safe" for use on the state's strawberry fields. Perhaps CDPR needs a lesson on what the word "safe" means. Environmental groups are fighting back. Yesterday, on Governor Jerry Brown's first day in office, a coalition of farmworkers and environmental health organizations announced that they were filing a lawsuit challenging the state's approval of methyl iodide. Earthjustice and California Rural Legal Assistance filed the lawsuit on behalf of the Pesticide Action Network of North America, United Farm Workers of America, Californians for Pesticide Reform, Pesticide Watch Educational Fund, Worksafe, Communities and Children Advocates Against Pesticide Poisoning, and farmworkers Jose Hidalgo Ramon and Zeferino Estrada. The groups allege that the decision to register the pesticide not only violates a number of state environmental laws, but that the CDPR acted illegally in declaring an "emergency" situation in order to rush the registration of methyl iodide. Understanding just how out of line the CDPR was requires a little bit of back story. First ...

The Used - My Pesticide

Song off of The Used EP album Shallow Believer, This song belongs to them and all their work. LYRICS: Stuck here sitting in your own mess, sinking Call up arms a search for a better word A mess you made, a smell you chose, and break in front of you Better off on your own you said, and I've seen that look in your eye It's embarrassing, A one note cold to make this quite unpleasant poison, and it's..... My life, my pesticide, works over time Make it last, well I would It's my life, by me this time, my pesticide, slow to kill your dreams Staying paralyzed, another day wasted, colours fade to grey like the never do The whole thing spins and yes you chose, to think for only you So pull the pin and let the whole thing go Between that smile and look it's embarrassing A shallow soul, to let this quite unpleasant poison, and it's.... My life, my pesticide, works over time Make it last, well I would It's my life, by me this time, my pesticide, slow to kill your dreams Slow, slow, slow, slow to kill your dream, Slow, slow, slow, slow to kill your, Slow to kill your, to kill your, to kill your dreams My life, my pesticide, works over time Make it last, well I would It's my life, by me this time, my pesticide, slow to kill your dreams Slow, slow, slow, slow to kill your dream, Slow, slow, slow, slow to kill your, Slow to kill your, to kill your, to kill your, Kill your Dreams

Bananas and Pesticides

The pesticide, DBCP, is sprayed on bananas in Central and South America. The United States banned the use of DBCP due to the devestating effects it has on the human body. However, the United States still imports bananas from farms in Central and South America that use DBCP. This pesticide can cause any number of health problems, including but not limited to, infertility, birth defects, cancer, skin problems, breathing problems, dizziness, confusion, and even death. The people who work on the banana farms are often unable to work due to the pesticide poisoning and in turn are unable to provide for their families. Many have moved into the city and have created tent cities outside of government buildings in order to protest the use of DBCP and other harmful pesticides on banana farms. They also plead with their governments to provide workers who have been affected by the pesticide with good medical care and financial compensation. This commerical advocates Americans being informed about DBCP and the affects it has on human life. It calls for them to act upon that knowledge through talking with the United States Government about raising pesticide restrictions on banana imports (this would cause foreign countries to reduce the amount of pesticides sprayed on bananas in order to sell them to the United States) and by buying organic bananas. Both of these actions would reduce the demand for pesticide sprayed bananas and would support organic farms.

Pesticides On Food

There is a non-toxic way to remove pesticides and poisons from fruit, vegetables, grains, rice, oats, and all foods that are washable. Ordinary water won't do it because oil based pesticides are designed NOT to come off in the rain. In this demonstration, 11.5 pH alkaline water is used to clean cherry tomatoes. Guests comment on the taste of tomatoes washed in 11.5 pH water vs tomatoes washed in tap water. Some foods have a lot of pesticides on them. Others do not. Buying organic is no guarantee that foods are clean. Organic farmers can use pesticides as long as they are organic. Washing all foods in 11.5pH water is a good way to remove organic and synthetic pesticides.
