All New 2012 Peugeot 208 reveal promo
Peugeot has unveiled the new B-segment 208 model, the successor to the 207. The 208 has been made lighter and more efficient than its predecessor - with the curb weight of the entry-level variant coming in as low as 975 kg (2145 lbs). It's also more aerodynamic with a Cd quotient of 0.29. Leg-room for rear passengers has been improved by 5 cm (2 inches) and trunk space is larger too. CO2 emissions will be 34 g/km on average less than on the 207. Peugeot will also be applying its e-HDi technology, with a stop/start system, on nearly all diesel variants. The 208 will be introducing a new range of three-cylinder petrol engines too - a 1.0 liter VTi and a 1.2 liter VTi. The Peugeot 208 goes on sale in Europe in the spring of 2012 with the UK launch following in the summer.

Peugeot HX1 Concept MPV revealed - raw driving scenes (no audio)
High-res photos: www.worldcarfans.com Peugeot has unveiled the new HX1 plug-in hybrid concept which the French automaker hopes marks the future of MPV/crossover vehicles. The HX1 is a low-slung MPV/crossover that seats 6 and measures 4.954 m long, 1.990 m wide, and with a height of just 1.373 m. Using Peugeot's HYbrid4 technology, the HX1 is an all-wheel drive diesel-electric with a 2.2 liter HDi unit with 150 kW (204 PS / 201 bhp) powering the front-axle while a 70 kW (95 PS / 95 bhp) electric motor drives the rear wheels. Combined output is 220 kW (299 PS / 295 bhp). The plug-in HX1 can travel up to 30 km (18.6 miles) in all-electric mode and features a fuel-economy rating of 3.2 liters/100 km (88 mpg UK / 73.5 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of 83 g/km. But Peugeot doesn't want to make this yet another boring hybrid concept. The HX1 comes with embedded rear spoiler and side skirts on the tailgate which deploy at speeds over 100 km/h (62 mph) and the car's design also gives it a Cd quotient of 0.28 - making it a pretty aerodynamically advanced vehicle for a 6-seater. The HX1 will make its public debut at the Frankfurt motor show September 13, 2011.

2011 Peugeot 908 LMP1 - PURE SOUND!! Test @ Monza for the 24 hours of Le Mans 2011
Photos here: picasaweb.google.com Today I've recorded a test at Monza Circuit (Italy) of the new Peugeot 908 for 2011 LMP championship. The track has been wetted by a special water tank. The car hasn't got the racing livery. You can see that there are a lot of new aerodynamic parts like a large engine air-intake mounted on top of the engine cover, the fin on the engine cover or the rear wing mounted on a twin 'swan-neck' supports. The engine is a 3700cc V8 turbocharged diesel engine. The sound is quite different from the old V12 turbodiesel engine and this V8 sounds a bit more noisy (good thing that :) ). Enjoy watching!!!

A new Peugeot concept. -Info- While the world was still reeling from the announcement of the Renault Twizy hitting production, electric urban mobility got yet another futuristic shot in its arm from the first official photos of this PSA Peugeot-Citroen original called the 2011 Peugeot VELV Concept. Commissioned by the French Agency for Energy Management (ADEME) and the French Environment Agency, VELV gets its name from the French acronym Velva which stands for Vehicule Electrique Leger de Ville, which in translation means Light Electric City Vehicle. Developed by the PSA with a little help from Valeo and Michelin, the VELV challenges notions of what the future of urban mobility would look like. The compact car was designed to maneuver around tight quarters of European cities and draws on the BB1 concept as well as the Peugeot EX1 racecar that held the Nürburgring EV lap record using the EX1's double rear axle as well as its zero-emission technology. Driven by a 20 kW electric motor, the gullwinged 2011 Peugeot VELV Concept draws its power from a 8.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. With an incredibly tight turning radius of 23.5ft (7.2 meters), the Lightweight City electric vehicle displaces 27hp, has a top speed of 110 km / h and lasts 100 kilometers on a full charge.
