CLICK MORE INFO FOR MY THOUGHTS: This interview took place early 2008 (Summary of Phil's comments) -Kobe has better skills -Jordan had amazing hands and was stronger -Jordan would save his best scoring performances for better competition -Kobe scores at random, and goes on scoring streaks -Jordan was a more efficient scorer -Kobe is probably a better ouside shooter -Jordan was probably the best inside player ever -Jordan had more control of the ball That's my summary, if you think It is not right, just tell me. Now for my thoughts. I think this is a very interesting video, however we will not know Phil's full thoughts on the two players until he is done coaching Kobe. For example, if Phil thought Jordan was far superior to Kobe, he wouldn't want to say it while he is still coaching him, because that could harm the relationship they have. Also, Jordan had already been in the league for five seasons before Phil started coaching the Bulls, but I doubt it would change Phil's view on Jordan at all had he been his coach since the '85 season. I do not agree with Phil on Kobe having a better skillset. Jordan just was not as flashy. He used simpler moves to produce on either offense or defense more effectively. I also think Jordan had just as good of an outside shot as Kobe, but did not get to show it off until later in his career, because 3's were not used nearly as much as they are today. Reports: Mike Brown To Succeed Phil Jackson as Coach of Lakers
Mike Brown is trending on reports that he will be named head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, taking the place of Hall of Famer Phil Jackson, who just retired. Brown coached the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA Finals but was fired in 2010 after failing to win a championship with LeBron James. Brown is getting some preliminary boos and hisses from Lakers fans. EyeCandy2 tweeted: "The Lakers cannot be serious about this Mike Brown head coach situation. Do they really think he can coach Kobe?" No word yet on what Jack Nicholson thinks. Brown has some serious shoes to fill, given Jackson's run of championships. But the bitter end to the Lakers' most recent season buys Brown a little wiggle room, at least until October when the next season gets under way. ;

You have got to love this man. The zen master all but backs up his sense of humor in regards to his "Brokeback Mountain" statements. C'mon, this guy lives in LA Homophobe? The Zen master? You kiddin' me? Original Story------- HOUSTON -- Coach Phil Jackson was reprimanded by the NBA, but not fined, and criticized by a national gay and lesbian group because of an off-color remark he made Tuesday night after the Lakers lost to San Antonio. Jackson was trying to explain how the Lakers' defense kept allowing Spurs players to penetrate the lane and kick the ball out to teammates on the perimeter for open shots. The Spurs made an exemplary 13 of 27 shots from three-point range in their 107-92 victory. "We call this a 'Brokeback Mountain' game because there's so much penetration and kick-outs," Jackson said. "It was one of those games." The Oscar-winning movie portrayed two cowboys who hid a homosexual affair. "The remarks are in poor taste, and the Lakers have assured us such remarks will not occur in the future," NBA spokesman Brian McIntyre said. Jackson also drew a rebuke in a statement issued by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. "Phil Jackson's been coaching long enough that he should be able to talk about the Lakers' performance without resorting to cheap gay jokes," the group said in the statement.
