Spotting at Philadelphia International Airport Philadelphia International Airport Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Saturday August 1, 2009 IN THIS VIDEO, I've spent the latter part of the afternoon and evening of August 1 at PHL shooting arrivals for the first part of the day, and departures for the remainder of the day. The main reason for going out that day was to catch an Air France 747-400 departing (which you'll see in the video), as Air France NEVER brings in a 747, and did so because the regularly scheduled Air France flight on Thursday was cancelled, and the A330 on Friday was substituted with the 747. The normal A330 flight came in on Saturday, so you'll see both the 747 and A330 depart, along with a HUGE handful of US Airways departures. The 27s were in use (along with 35 and 26) and I utilized three different spots for 27L departures. I and one of my friends were actually kicked out of the one spot where it appears the trees take over, and we headed over to the other spot by a car park. I usually never get lucky with special schemes, but that day I got to see the PSA and Allegheny heritage A319s depart! If I had gotten there earlier and not shot arrivals, I would have gotten Southwest's New Mexico scheme too... Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200W Departure and Arrival Video Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Atlanta, Georgia Wednesday November 9, 2011 This video was shot on board a Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200W as I flew from the Philadelphia International Airport to Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Wednesday morning. We departed from Runway 27L at PHL and arrived on Runway 8L at ATL - much earlier than anticipated! It turned out to be a fairly smooth flight with some light turbulance south of Virginia. This video was shot with a point and shoot digital camera that is capable of shooting HDvideo. Spotting at Philadelphia International Airport Philadelphia International Airport Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Friday March 13, 2009 IN THIS VIDEO, you will see a large selection of aircraft arriving into Runway 9R at PHL. The video was shot between 12:35 PM and 2:40 PM. I would have stuck around longer, but it was getting cooler, the sun disappeared into the clouds, the wind picked up a little more, and the fact that British Airways Flight #67 would be arriving well after 3:00. You are seeing about two-thirds of all of the traffic that arrived into 9R in that two hour time window, as I did not take the time to shoot the US Airways Express CRJ-200s and most of the E-170s and E-190s that US Airways Express and mainline US Airways flies. I did miss a couple MD-80s and a couple A321s, but that was no big deal. I decided to not shoot any departures off of 9L that day... Now, the original plan was to check out a spot in New Jersey that is very good for aircraft on approach to Runway 27R, but winds out of the northeast meant that the 9s would be in use, hence the trip across the river. Spotting at Philadelphia International Airport Philadelphia International Airport Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Saturday December 11, 2010 IN THIS VIDEO, I was originally supposed to present a special spotting video from NAS/JRB Willow Grove, featuring four F/A-18F Super Hornets from the Jolly Rogers of VFA-103, departing and returning from doing the flyover of the Army/Navy Game in Philadelphia, played at Lincoln Financial Field (where the Philadelphia Eagles play their home games). Instead, the Super Hornets staged from their home base of NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach to do the flyover, which you see in the video, along with the flyover of four AH-64 Apaches from Fort Indiantown Gap. You will also see the Golden Knights' C-31 Troopship take part in a joint jump of the US Army's Golden Knights and the US Navy's Leap Frogs parachute teams. Basically, this is another Philadelphia International Airport spotting video. I switched between arrivals and departures and then arrivals when the 27s were in use. After the last 27R arrival in this video, I drove to get departures, when I heard them switch to the 9s. The rest of the PHL operations in this video features departures from the 9s. After the Army/Navy flyovers concluded, the airport was still on the 9s, but I was on my way home. The Star Alliance E170 you see in the video departing had arrived earlier in the day while the airport was on the 27s, and I didn't get video of its arrival. On November 10, 2010, I flew out of Philadelphia International Airport on my way to Pensacola, Florida for the Blue Angels Homecoming Airshow. The first leg of my trip was on board this American Airlines MD-80 and we flew from Philly to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. This video shows us departing from PHL's Runway 27L and does not include our arrival into DFW (believe we landed on Runway 17C) because the camera's batteries died and I didn't have a second set readily available. About 10 demonstrators gathered at PHL on December 23, 2010. The purpose was to educate travelers about the dangers of new TSA procedures. (www.WeWontFly.com) Traffic was slow, so while the others were passing out flyers, I took the opportunity to observe TSA and Philadelphia police. Notice how they all claim the authority to boss us around. But when you stand your ground they go away.

Spotting at Philadelphia International Airport Philadelphia International Airport Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Sunday October 10, 2010 IN THIS VIDEO, I spent two and a half hours on the New Jersey side of the Delaware River filming arrivals onto Runways 26, 27L and 27R at Philadelphia International Airport. This video would be much longer, as I skipped over a handful of A319s, A320s, and A321s because I was after something more important, which can be seen towards the end of the video. There were some surprises among the airline arrivals, especially back-to-back. Also, don't mind the conversations in the background, as several friends of mine were chatting about spotting and all... Overhead Spotting of PHL Traffic Southern New Jersey Wednesday February 11, 2009 IN THIS VIDEO, I'm going to be perfectly honest with you guys - this is probably going to be the most boring spotting video I will ever upload. I was out earlier in the day working on my car (it was 65 degrees at the time) and saw an A330 flying over my house in the most observable flight path towards Philadelphia International Airport that you can see from either my driveway or my backyard. I then decided that since it was such a nice day, that I would see if I can get some of that action on video and share it with you guys. Unfortunately for me, I was unable to do that. The 27s were in use for arrivals and departures at PHL at the time, but the traffic was utilizing different holding patterns around my town, and not flying over my house. I did, however, decide to get some high flying traffic - the aircraft you see in the video that appear to be a lot smaller, are being shot while flying over my house at over 30000 feet up, heading northeast towards destinations unknown. The twin engine private aircraft you see towards the end of the video was flying at least 6000 feet up. All of the video was shot somewhere between 2:00 and 2:25 PM. With Hanks, who is always watchable, and Washington, who has also got a very good track record, this film was destined to be fantastic but not even I, who always has an optimistic view when it comes to movies, was ready for the impact that this film made. Tom Hanks excelled even himself with his performance as an AIDS striken homosexual who is fired from his job simply because of his condition. It is Hanks, by himself, who makes the whole scenario in the film believable. Although this is Hanks's best performance of his career, he is very closely followed by Denzel Washington who gives a perfect performance as the only lawyer who will take on the case although he is a homophobe himself. The emotional strain of the film on the audience is immense and in the later stages of the film it is almost impossible to watch because of that. The make-up which gives the impression that Hanks really does have the terrible disease is perfect and the simple yet striking direction from Jonathan Demme(The Silence Of The Lambs) make this utterly compelling viewing although at times it is very uncomfortable. All praise to everyone in the making of this beautiful film. Recorded on January 1, 2011 using a Flip Video camcorder. Great sound from engine #2. There was a Swiss police car (BMW X5) that escorted us from the gate to the runway along with another military police jeep. Pretty cool. The X5 chased us down a road parallel to the runway for a while going over probably 120 mph. I missed this on the video unfortunately. Great, quick climb up into the sun above the clouds with the Alps in the background!
