How to Choose the Right Tripod - Photography Lessons by Berger Bros Camera

www.Berger-Bros.com - Tripods provide great stability for your camera which will help prevent taking blurry photos. In addition, they give you the opportunity to get yourself into your photos. Yvonne Berger, an instructor with Berger Bros Camera in Amityville and Syosset Long Island, New York explains how to choose the right tripod. So, how to you choose the right tripod? The easiest answer is to choose the tripod that you will actually use. There are many different factors that go into buying a tripod and you really can't buy a tripod just by looking at a picture. You should go into your camera store and physically hold the tripod so you can see and feel how it works. Things to Look For When Buying a Tripod: 1. What is it made of? 2. What are you using your tripod for? 3. What type of camera are you putting on the tripod? There are two different types of tripod legs to choose from: 1. A clip leg 2. A twist leg There are two types of tripod heads: 1. Ball Head 2. Hand Tilt Head Some tripods have what is known as a quick release plate which will enable you to quickly remove your camera from the tripod if the photography need arises. Carrying your tripod can sometimes be a pain. That's why you need to have a bad for your tripod. The thing to remember is that you always want you tripod there when you need it. So, make sure carrying your tripod is not a problem that will keep you from using it. Tripods available at Berger Bros... Giottos Gitzo GorillaPod Manfrotto/Bogen Call ...

Editing Software Tips For Beginners - Digital Photography Lessons by Berger Bros Camera

www.Berger-Bros.com One of the things that has made digital photography fun is the ability to use editing software to play around and do fun things with your photos. A big question for beginners is what digital editing software to use. Yvonne Berger, one of the instructors at Berger Brothers Camera in Amityville and Syosset Long Island, NY, warns that, for beginners, it is a mistake to go out and buy a whole bunch of software. She explains that a good program to start with (for MAC users) is iPhoto...because it's very user friendly. However, if you're on a PC you should start with Picasa. The next level of software would be the program Adobe Photoshop Elements. In fact Yvonne teaches an excellent 4 week course on Photoshop Elements which you can learn more about here: www.berger-bros.com

What is ISO? Photography Lessons by Berger Bros Camera

Berger-Bros.com What is ISO? Yvonne Berger - instructor at Berger Bros Camera in Amityville and Syosset Long Island, New York explains the basics of what you need to know about ISO. An ISO is basically what your ASA used to be on your film. The ISO is the sensitivity of your camera to the available light. So, if you are shooting in a place where it is very bright light, like at the beach or at the park and it is a bright sunny day, a 100 ISO suits. If however you are going to be inside and maybe using your flash where there is not as much light, you maybe want it to be at something like 400 ISO.

What is ISO or how to use ISO? DSLR Photography Tutorial. Basic lesson for beginners

www.facebook.com www.PhotographersOnUTube.com Photography Tutorials & Tips A detailed tutorial of "ISO" with picture samples. Important Notes: * The higher the ISO the more sensitive the sensor is going to be to light. * The lower the ISO the less sensitive the sensor is going to be to light. You use low ISO when shooting in daylight or with studio light. You use high ISO when there is not a lot of light available. The drawback of high ISO is graininess/noise in picture. How to Select the Best Camera Bags - Photography Lessons by Berger Bros Camera

berger-bros.com How do you select the best camera bag for your needs? Yvonne Berger, one of the photography instructors at Berger Bros Camera in Amityville and Syosset Long Island, explains What kind and how many camera bags you will need. Should you have one camera bag or more than one? There answer is that you should have many because there are many different occasions where you will need to have just a small bag for limited camera equipment, while on other occasions you will need a larger bag to carry a lot of different pieces of camera equipment and gadgets. If you're just going out on a day trip type of shoot you might need one camera and one lens. In that instance Top Loader would be the best choice because it's small and compact. If, however, you have a lot of equipment, or maybe you're traveling with a laptop you might need something like a Think Tank bag because it has a lot of different dividers and can hold a lot of different kinds of equipment. If you're hiking and planning on taking nature photographs and you need to have your arms free then a back pack is an excellent choice. For more information on camera bags go to www.Berger-Bros.com
