Korean Travel Phrases #1 - Hello (pt 1/2).

Free Korean phrases lessons from www.busyatom.com Useful Korean travel phrases and test. Hello, Yes, No, I'm sorry, Excuse me, Thank you. That's all right. Pronunciation Tip #1 "합-니-다" syllable by syllable reads "HaB-Ni-Da". But, when you read together it becomes "HaMmida". This is one of many examples where some of the Korean syllables read different than what is written (usually happens when syllables form a word). In "합니다" case, the pronunciation rule is called "비음화" (nasalization) & examples are "갑니다","잡니다", "탑니다", etc. The article concerning this can be found in our main web site (sorry, long address) at: www.busyatom.com

Mariah Carey: Words & Phrases in the Whistle Register (Live)

We all know Mariah Carey is globally known for many things but mainly for possesing an astonishing five octave vocal range. And the use of her whistle register which sets her apart from every other female artist in the Music Industry. "I have nodules on my vocal cords. My mother says I've had them since I was a kid. That's why I have the high register and the belting register and I can still be husky. The only thing that really affects my voice is sleep. Sometimes if I'm exhausted, I can't hit the really high notes." "My doctors showed me my vocal cords and why I can hit those high notes. It's a certain part of the cord that not many people use the very top. My natural voice is low. I have a raspy voice. I'm really more of an alto. But my airy voice can be high if I'm rested." Basic Grammar: Adjective and Adverb Phrases

www.mindbites.com "A phrase is a group of words that does the work of a single word or part of speech." Marie defines phrases then explains that there are verb phrases, adjective phrases and adverb phrases. "Now, I want to introduce you to prepositions. A preposition is a word that begins an adjective phrase or an adverb phrase. A phrase begins with a preposition, and ends with a noun." She marches across the yard singing a ditty featuring seven different phrases, then provides examples of sample phrases that she breaks down for us to help ensure our understanding. To cap things off, she surprises us with a bush covered in paper flowers, each flower inscribed with a commonly used preposition. Workbook exercises and answer key are provided with this lesson. Featured Music: Rackham - The Phrase Ditty This lesson is excerpted from the Basic Cozy English Grammar course. The full course was created by and is available from Splashes from the River.
