Edgar Allan Poe & Vincent Price: The Tell-Tale Heart (I)

I'm too far away to go and place flowers and liquor in Edgar Allan Poe's tomb, in Baltimore, US. But every january the 19th I remember Poe in some way or another. This time, I've chosen to add Vincent Price impersonation of famous tale The Tell-tale Heart (first act of his An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe movie). When I was living in Spain, I did the same tale -in spanish- for a live audience on several occasions (Arnod Medvegia was my nickname on those performings). I love this tale. I love Vincet Price. And finally I love Edgar Allan Poe. This is my homage to both amazingly talented geniuses, combined here again to give life to such a masterpiece. Happy birthday Edgar!!

Delve into the haunted realms of Edgar Allan Poe, as Nox Arcana pays tribute to the classic tales of the literary master of the macabre with a lush musical tapestry of Victorian elegance and Gothic nightmares. Edgar Allan Poe "The Raven" Poem animation

Heres a virtual movie of the great Edgar Allan Poe reading his much loved and very dark poem "The Raven" .......... The Raven" is a narrative poem by the American writer Edgar Allan Poe, first published in January 1845. It is noted for its musicality, stylized language, and supernatural atmosphere. It tells of a talking raven's mysterious visit to a distraught lover, tracing the latter's slow descent into madness. The lover, often identified as being a student,[1][2] is lamenting the loss of his love, Lenore. The raven, sitting on a bust of Pallas, seems to further instigate his distress with its constant repetition of the word, "Nevermore." Throughout the poem, Poe makes allusions to folklore and various classical works. Poe claimed to have written the poem very logically and methodically. His intention was to create a poem that would appeal to both critical and popular tastes, as he explains in the follow-up essay: "The Philosophy of Composition". The poem was inspired in part by a talking raven in the novel Barnaby Rudge: A Tale of the Riots of 'Eighty by Charles Dickens.[3] Poe borrows the complex rhythm and meter of Elizabeth Barrett's poem "Lady Geraldine's Courtship". The first publication of "The Raven" on January 29, 1845, in the New York Evening Mirror made Poe widely popular in his lifetime. The poem was soon reprinted, parodied, and illustrated. Though some critics disagree about the value of the poem, it remains one of the most famous poems ever written" Kind ...

Let the bell toll!- a saintly soul floats on the Stygian river; And, Guy de Vere, hast thou no tear?- weep now or nevermore! See! on yon drear and rigid bier low lies thy love, Lenore! Come! let the burial rite be read- the funeral song be sung!- An anthem for the queenliest dead that ever died so young- A dirge for her the doubly dead in that she died so young. "Wretches! ye loved her for her wealth and hated her for her pride, And when she fell in feeble health, ye blessed her- that she died! How shall the ritual, then, be read?- the requiem how be sung By you- by yours, the evil eye,- by yours, the slanderous tongue That did to death the innocence that died, and died so young?" Peccavimus; but rave not thus! and let a Sabbath song Go up to God so solemnly the dead may feel no wrong. The sweet Lenore hath "gone before," with Hope, that flew beside, Leaving thee wild for the dear child that should have been thy bride. For her, the fair and debonair, that now so lowly lies, The life upon her yellow hair but not within her eyes The life still there, upon her hair- the death upon her eyes. Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe

It was many and many a year ago, In a kingdom by the sea, That a maiden there lived whom you may know By the name of Annabel Lee; And this maiden she lived with no other thought Than to love and be loved by me. I was a child and she was a child, In this kingdom by the sea: But we loved with a love that was more than love - I and my Annabel Lee; With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven Coveted her and me. And this was the reason that, long ago, In this kingdom by the sea, A wind blew out of a cloud one night, chilling My beautiful Annabel Lee; So that her high-born kinsmen came And bore her away from me, To shut her up in a sepulchre In this kingdom by the sea. The angels, not half so happy in heaven, Went envying her and me - Yes! that was the reason (as all men know, In this kingdom by the sea) That the wind came out of the cloud Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee. But our love it was stronger by far than the love Of those who were older than we - Of many far wiser than we - And neither the angels in heaven above, Nor the demons down under the sea, Can ever dissever my soul from the soul Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side Of my darling -my darling -my life and my bride, In the sepulchre there by the sea - In her tomb by the sounding sea. The beautiful poem ...

Zelda Ocarina of Time - Big Poes

The location of all ten Big Poes. Played in real time on Mupen64 0.5 re-recording v2 with re-records used between each Poe because I lack the patience to do this all perfectly in one go. It seems like a lot of people have trouble finding all ten of the Big Poes, which are needed to trade for one of the four bottles. And since you usually have to approach the spot where they appear from a very specific angle, a description or even a map of where they are can be less than great for finding them. So, I decided to make this video where I ride around Hyrule Field and kill all ten of them, approaching from what I find to be the easiest angles. I hope it helps. In case you're wondering why I frequently kill one and then ride right past the spot where another appears, or why I don't use many carrots, it's because Big Poes won't appear if you've recently encountered another one. So, I have to give myself enough time between them, which means riding back and forth across Hyrule Field a few times to get them all without just sitting and waiting.

This Week in Horror - Edgar Allan Poe

Once upon a Midnight Dreary, while I pondered weak and weary, over many a dull and forgetful podcast..there was no tapping at the door just the sound of the eleventh episode of This Week in Horror celebrating the works of 'Americas Shakespeare' Edgar Allan Poe. Joining our hosts Matt Raub and Staci Layne Wilson in their Gothic exploration of the man behind The Raven are two people who know the work of Poe intimately. Actor Jeffrey Combs of 'Re-Animator' fame has literally had to get under Poe's skin to play him in the one man show 'Nevermore' which played to sold out audiences over a year ago. The good news is it's back and Jeffrey will be playing Poe once a month for the entire year at the Steve Allen theater in Los Angeles. Jeffrey discusses the complexities of Poe both as an artist and as a man and the challenges of playing the popular historical figure. Our second guest is largely responsible for bringing Poe into the popular culture with his colorful and atmospheric film adaptations of Poe's work, he is a recent Oscar winner and living legend of American cinema, the 'King of the B-Movies', Roger Corman. We delve into the origins of Corman's interest in Poe and how the gamble to make a costume period drama at the beginning of the 1960's paid off. As if this wasn't enough Poe infusion, our very own Staci Layne Wilson premieres the trailer for her own Poe adaptation -'The Key to Annabel Lee [A Woman in Triptych]'. Make sure you watch it now or Nevermore! For more ...

Poe - Hello Band version

UPDATE: Another user has informed me that this is called the band version and is on the Hello single. I found 2 Hello singles on amazon. There is the one I posted before, and there this one: www.amazon.com apparently this one has this version and the other just has remixes. I originally had this video labeled as "Rock version" and the file has it labeled as LP Mix for some reason. I apologize for any confusion. Enjoy the music! (the download links are below with my old description that I'm too lazy to edit out right now) Also known as: Rock version, Video version, LP Mix? No video; sound and picture only. The CD this version is on seems to be out of print, and I noticed a lot of users are having trouble finding the mp3, so I decided to be nice and upload it for those looking for it. I know I could be suspended, but this is an alternate account anyways. Mp3 is 320kbps (or at least that's what my computer says) so it's of pretty high quality. www.mediafire.com You can buy used copies of the single here: www.amazon.com EDIT: When I had downloaded the file, it was labeled as the "LP Mix" however I am not sure if that is the official name or if it is a case of mislabeling. What I do know is that this is the version heard in the music video. I apologize for any mix-ups. If you would like me to upload this on another sharing site, just ask me to. :) Please no flaming or nasty comments. Hope you enjoy the music! Edgar Allan Poe Collection ® Vol. 1,

The first volume in The Edgar Allan Poe Collection contains some excellent adaptations of Poe's work including George Higham's award winning stop-motion animation short film inspired by the poem Annabel Lee. Annabel Lee is quintessential Poe—a haunted soul, a lost love and the nocturnal grave-quest. The epic quality of this Orphic adventure includes expressionist visions of a lone figure on a journey through a nightmarish landscape in order to be re-united with his lost love... but first he must overcome the wrath of the "Envious Angels" that ruined his world. The DVD also contains the short films The Raven by Peter Bradley, The Tell-Tale Heart by Alfonso S. Suarez featuring a performance by European horror legend Paul Naschy, an interview with Poe expert Paul Clemens, and making of featurettes.

The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe - Music Adaptation!

This is my new and improved music version of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven." With my previous two versions, which were solely guitar layers, I had terribly amateur equipment to work with, using laptop microphones and free recording programs like audacity and garageband. This time, I used Logic Pro, a midi keyboard, a Martin guitar, a mixer, and multi-thousand dollar microphones. The result is a drastically better sound quality (although I still recorded every single layer in my bedroom or closet and not in a studio). I hope you enjoy this music version of the greatest poem ever written! Look for the little black cat I hid in every picture. Sometimes he's really hard to find.
