The pickup is wired to the jack, with the pot/cap in parallel, just like a normal guitar circuit (but without the volume pots). I'm using an Orange Drop .022uF, and the two pots are Bourns A500K and Philmore B500k. Audio examples recorded through my Vox VT30 amp and a high quality Rode NT1 mic. I took apart my old Brothers MFC 420CN Print / Scan / Fax machine. Found a PM35s048 stepper motor. The data sheet shows it as having 48 steps (7.5 degree). I just hooked it up with the following: Yellow = Digital 4 Orange = Digital 5 Red = Digital 6 Black = Digital 7 I modified the example code for a stepper motor (MotorKnob) to have the required 48 steps and increased the speed a bit. As well I mapped the potentiometer values to 0-48 instead of using the default 0-1023. Makes for a single rotation and a lot less noise. Source Code: www.linux.com

In this video, I demonstrate how to cleanly drill the holes for the pots in a semi-hollow body guitar. Coming up next will be wiring and soldering.

Update: Using some wire wrapped around the central popper to make contact with the resistive ring (circular potentiometer). Unfortunately (though cool too) the Eexonyx fabric is pressure sensitive, thus its resistance varies also on the pressure applied, not only due to the position of contact. Plus the contact between the wire and Eeonyx is not stable enough. But this is a design issue that can be solved:-) (Music: Small Fires by Karate)

ME-DIGITAL POTENTIOMETER BOARD To extend the capabilities of their debug boards, many manufacturers offer additional peripheral device modules. Many of such modules that significantly simplify the development process are produced by mikroElectronika. ME is a digital potentiometer board based on the MCP41010 microchip. MCP41010 is a single-channel 8-bit digital potentiometer with 256 control steps and a standard serial peripheral interface. Its impedance is 10 kOhm. The board is connected to the main board with a 10-pin connector. Depending on the microcontroller type at hand, turn on the relevant switches. For instance, for an EasyAVR5A board, the third and the sixth switches need to be turned on. The board is connected to the device under test with a labeled terminal block. Other features of the digital potentiometer board are the availability of a register for saving rated values and an off command to decrease power consumption. Digital potentiometers are widely used in audio equipment (volume and tone control devices), in servodrive controllers, battery chargers and many other devices.
