This track was picked up by a bunch of cool radio stations, and Sony signed him up. The sample is BB King, who trousered most of the royalties, so even when this record was topping the alternative music charts for months, Chris was still having to scrimp and save for a decent cigar. Tommy G's part in Future Primitive was the first real street skating video segment, and the first to spotlight the streets of SF as the natural skatepark that they were and are. In the 80s, this is what street skating was often like: just a bunch of guys ripping down the street, crashing into things and generally having a blast. In other words it was pretty damn silly a lot of the time - and a hellofa lot of fun. Along with the Bones Brigade, that's Christian Hosoi in there with the green hair, along with Dave Hackett (acid-dropping off a semi truck), Ian Frahm (ollieing up onto the wall at the Brooklyn Bridge banks - big trick at the time) and some other NYC locals.

This is a primitive way to start a fire with a piece of flint (in this case it is english flint) and a steel striker (which is just a piece of carbon steel) when you strike a piece of carbon steel against a sharpened edge of a piece of flint the flint scrapes off tiny bits of steel (because the flint is harder than the steel) and the friction is what gets those bits of steel red hot, which is what the sparks are...In this video I catch a spark on a piece of char cloth and place it into a "birds nest" which I made out of jute twine I seperated...If you do not know what char cloth is or jute twine, you can find out easily with a quick google search...By blowing on the bundle the char cloth gets red hot and in turn heats the jute twine...It get so hot that in bursts into flames, you can use this to start a camp fire or if you are in a survival situation...In the case of a survival situation most people will not have a flitn and steel on them, but there are many rocks you can find all around the wolrd that will create a spark if you hit it with a piece of steel...as for the steel, I suggest you at least carry a carbon steel knife with you if you venture into the wild, that way you can use that as your striker...I hope you enjoy the video...
