TSM: What kind of challenges have you come across from doing the Bachata music? Royce: Challenges. Well, I was never really to ... I didn't start with Bachata, so Bachata was a little different for me to get into but I think one challenge was just instruments. Because Bachata is not like Pop or R&B where you get the beat and write to it, and then you record. Bachata ... there would be songs that I would write without a beat and then you get together with the pianist and then put ... you know, set the music one instrument at a time. I think that was a cool challenge, a cool experience for me. TSM: What are some of the things that you do to prepare yourself before a concert? Royce: Prepare myself before a concert. Just be myself and act goofy. I think when I act goofy it makes me a little relaxed, like I can just go up there. Oh, 20 thousand people out there ... that's nothing! Let's go out there and do what I got to do and that's it ... and have fun with it. I think that's the main goal, that's what's keeping me motivated to do this, just having fun with it. That's what keeps me motivated. TSM: What does Planet Royce mean to you? Royce: Planet Royce! Planet Royce ... it's complicated. Planet Royce is a lifestyle. It's a way of living. It's another world. It's a place where you can do whatever you want to do. It's a place where you don't get judged. It's a place where ... like the outfits that I wear, we describe that as Planet Royce. TSM: Like your glasses. Royce: Yeah ...
