Quentin Tarantino - The Works
The work of Quentin Tarantino has always left an impression on me. Although many think that he delves too deeply into paying homage to his influences, I feel that his films are kinetic, deep and always offer a great time at the cinema. Whether it be his unique style of dialogue or impeccable moments of tension, it's undeniable that Quentin Tarantino is one of the most talented directors working today. With this action packed and bloody installment of 'The Works', my goal was to display exactly what I feel makes Tarantino such a great director. I'm debating between two options, but either way or you'll end up seeing both of them at some point. Filmed the year 'The Naked Civil Servant' was first published, and before he had become a household name, this very rare footage of Quentin Crisp was filmed as part of a series of interviews by Bernard Braden which were never broadcast. In these rushes, an unusually restrained Crisp reveals his renowned wit and unconventional opinions when asked some imaginative questions about whether homosexuals would make good world leaders and whether gay men write better parts for actresses than straight men. He also talks about the misogyny inherent in British culture, comparing it with homophobia. Quentin Tarantino - My Best Friend's Birthday [1987 Short Film]
My Best Friend's Birthday [1987 Short Film] The film was completed, but the final reel was destroyed in a lab fire that broke out during editing. The surviving part of the film was shown in part to a small crowd in early 1987. Actor Allen Garfield was teaching Quentin Tarantino acting at the time, and that is how he also became involved in the project. Filmed over three years, from 1984-1987. Some of the dialogue would go on to be used in Quentin's script "True Romance".

This is an Official DS music video and not my creation. Quentin's Theme was first heard on Dan Curtis' 1968 TV drama The Strange Case of Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde. The composer Rebert Cobert later re-recorded the tune for Dark Shadows. Robert Cobert's inspired music score for Dark Shadows broke new ground for a television program. The original soundtrack cracked the top 20 of Billboard's national album chart in 1969 and still ranks as one of the top-selling TV soundtracks ever. The spoken-word instrumental track "Quentin's Theme", for which Cobert earned a Grammy nomination, was recorded by the Charles Randolph Grean Sounde. The single peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (and number 3 on its Easy Listening chart) in the summer of 1969, when Dark Shadows was perhaps at the peak of its popularity.
