Model Boat Shoots Bottle Rockets, Self

More Info: www.rapidnadion.com (Description below) This is a test cruise for our scratch-built R destroyer's new bottle-rocket launch system. The test goes half-right: the rockets leave the ship, but immediately dive underwater and explode less than a ship-length away. Problem: ignition exhaust is positioned too close to projectiles, and fires them overboard before they can ignite. Development continues! Scratch-built destroyer using a dedicated receiver/servo to activate a switch. Switch closes circuit to a model rocket igniter/engine combo, which fires bottle rockets. Filmed with an HTC Evo4G, GoPro Hero HD, and off-brand gum-stick camera.

Model Titanic Sinks

More Info: www.rapidnadion.com (Description below) This is an 18" Revell-Monogram RMS Titanic kit, built with twelve "watertight" compartments separated by plastic bulkheads similar in height to those on the actual Titanic. The vessel is weighted to float at the proper waterline, and the starboard bow has been holed at the location of the iceberg impact on the historic vessel. This model is missing the propellers, rudder, and mainmast -- all were damaged either during sinkings or in storage. It also needs some work to maintain a proper "hang time" at the vertical position during the final plunge. Otherwise, the sinking is quite realistic, with the final plunge beginning just after the bridge goes under.

Model Titanic Sinks & Splits

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking, here is the latest revision of the five-year-old "Model Titanic Sinks" series. Two Academy-Minicraft 30" 1:350 scale Titanic models, specially modified by the RapidNadion W&M Shipyards to sink as the real Titanic did, were used in the creation of this video. Shot with a Casio Exilim FC-150 and a GoPro Hero HD. For much more information on these models, check out our Channel Page. Star Trek Communicator Cellphone - Rare Prototype

More Info: www.rapidnadion.com (Description below) A working cellphone made in the form of a Star Trek communicator. This is one of 14 numbered prototypes distributed internally at Nokia in 2008. I bought it on eBay from a former Nokia employee who received it as a gift and no longer works for the company. This is a heavily-modified N76 with custom sounds, graphics, and hardware. It is very much a prototype and obviously in a late Alpha or early Beta stage. A little different from our usual fare. Sorry it takes me so long to get to the device itself; would have made a shorter vid if I'd known this was going to be picked up by so many tech/Trek blogs. Hope you enjoy it! Shot with HTC Evo 4G (Inflammatory or derogatory comments, or those unrelated to the device itself, or comments regarding eBay auction price speculation, will be removed.)

R/C Boat's Rocket Attack Backfires

More info: www.RapidNadion.com Many of our longtime viewers have called on us to make a video showing our R destroyer attacking our R/C aircraft carrier. We finally decided to heed those requests ... but the results were quite unexpected! In multiple attacks, the missiles (bottle rockets) became lodged in the launch tubes due to warped guidance rods ... and exploded on deck! Others fell overboard and became torpedoes. The end result, the carrier steaming away without a scratch, was pretty funny ... and the high-speed footage of the explosions aboard 702 was too good to pass up. We hope you enjoy it. Shot with a Casio Exilim FC-150, GoPro Hero HD, and Flip Video Mino. Special thanks to Video-One (Jim B.), Video-Two (Mo), and our firing officer, Muff B.

More Info: www.rapidnadion.com (Description below) See photos of this model's interior like "Rapidnadion" on Facebook! www.facebook.com/rapidnadion We intended this to be a sinking Titanic video with an on-board camera, but temperatures were too cold for the waterproof camera to operate, so that'll have to wait until spring. In the meantime, here's the 30" Titanic model from our other videos, this time shot from different angles and including sound - listen for the whistling of air escaping during the final plunge. The model is by Academy-Minicraft, with custom modifications including "iceberg damage" and special interior compartmentalization and sealing. Considering it's been 2 years since the last sinking of this model, we think it's held up pretty well. Approximate time for this sinking was three minutes.
