Emil takes on Marta and Lloyd obviously throwing the fight in their favor Marta is about to go for the finisher but realises that it is Emil acting all along not Ratatosk. All part of his plan to get them to turn him into a core. Marta hands the core willingly and Emil has no choice but to give up the act. Emil realises that what he did with the Real Ratatosk was pretty much like killing him sealing him away. Marta gets angry and sad at him telling him he thought he understood both sides. She convinces Emil to let Ratatosk out and let them try to become one and agree with each other. He goes deep into his mind and after a little talking they decide to have a duel to see who is worthy. After winning both Emil and Ratatosk realise they need each other. Emil needs Ratatosk's Strength and Ratatosk needs Emil's kindness agreeing its not a weakness. Ratatosk decides to accept Emil as a part of him as good gesture for finally understanding each other.

Chapter 8 the last chapter. We open on Ratatosk on the floor in pain looking up at Richter as he deals the final blow. A core falls onto the floor which Richter wonders about until Aqua fills him in and tells him to destroy it. Tenebrae appears calling Aqua a traitor and runs off with core in tail hand. Emil wakes up and has remembered everything but still absorbing the shock. Tenebrae reveals that Ratatosk actually hatched when Marta asked right at the start. The core on her forehead was just to draw attention to her rather then him. Emil is shocked about the fact he used Marta all along as Ratatosk. Marta is waiting outside his room and there is a request from Brute as he wants to talk to Emil. Brute tells them that he has told the Vanguard to stop attacking and doing what they are although some are loyal to Richter and will follow him. It seems it was Richter pulling the puppet strings all along. Giving Brute the core and suggesting it turn into the militant group it has become. He tells Emil to stop Richter and do not trust him at any circumstance. It's now their job to find Richter and stop him for the good of the world.

Like any other boss, Ratatosk has phases. His first phase is moving around the room whipping you and the occasional summoning of shadow puppet ghouls. Once in awhile he may summon a shadow mummy as well. He'll also go around shooting three needles that will petrify you, but you should be able to avoid it or run away before he whips you. Attack him whenever you can. The second phase is where you should start avoiding and stop attacking so much. He'll throw three chakrams that will follow you. If it hits you'll get stunned. After he'll throw one chakram and whip you. Sometimes he'll summon shadow puppets that look like you. Attack around to try to find out where he is. If you hit the puppets you'll hit yourself. He'll also summon dark holes that shoot out trash and spears. The third phase is pretty much the same except he throws two chakrams and whips you. After he uses the whip attack him three times and run. The purification is basically the same as any other. His attack is just making holes that throw junk. *Edit: Found by DarkHarpuia! When Ratatosk disappears after summoning puppet Djangos he leaves Energy Paths (Those white sparkly lights) that point towards his general location. Don't be an idiot like me who just stabbed everywhere!

Emil and Ratatosk finally agree with each other and with that Aqua is hatched creating the full seal and regaining all of Ratatosk's power. Ratatosk decides to not destroy humanity but he can no longer use the seal as it was forced open by Richter. Richter must now go with his original plan to use himself as the seal using his own mana. Ratatosk decides to help him with it by rewriting some laws of the world by taking away all the Mana from the world and then turning it into a seal. This would usually kill the world but Ratatosk will write another rule so that nothing needs to use mana to live. The new world tree will keep flowing Mana and then it will continuously use the mana for the seal. Another problem is that without Mana the world will eventually die in billions of years due to the protection given by the mana disappearing. It's finally time for Ratatosk to seal even the door to this area so that nobody ever disturbs them. Nobody will enter or leave. One by one they say kind words and walk out. Get ready for your tears cause the end is Marta saying goodbye to Ratatosk and Emil...They will never see each other again. They promise to always be with each other in heart. As Marta walks off she turns back. "Emil, I'll always love you." Emil turns back to Marta "And I'll always love you too Marta." -sniff- I-I'm not...crying really...I'M NOT!

We get outside and see Dirk holding off monsters from entering Martel Temple. Not bad. Seems alot of monsters have appeared since that earthquake. Ratatosk can hardly keep the door closed due to lack of Centurions and negative energy around the world from the Vanguard. Ratatosk gets angry about Lloyd having Lumen's core and wants to go through all of them who get in his way. Emil stops Ratatosk from hurting his friend and they have a argument inside Emil's head. Ratatosk is confident with himself because he thinks only he can sort this out by regaining his power. Emil decides to lock away Ratatosk for the time being and let Emil deal with things. Looks like Emil has decided to get the Centurions cores and close off the gate living his life as Ratatosk. Everyone promises to help him to the end in his decision. They all splut up for the time being to make preperations and for Emil to say goodbye to people.

After sending everyone off. Ratatosk has created the seal that nobody can enter or leave from now on. Emil and Richter discuss about the seal and how long Richter will have to make the sacrifice of using his own bodies mana. Richter asks if Ratatosk is able to seperate into Emil and Ratatosk offering Ratatosk to live off Richters body and let Emil go. Ratatosk says he can't due to needing to use his power to seperate mana. The centurions offer to do this for Emil and to use their power to keep Emil and Ratatosk seperate. Richter makes a point that Emil regretted Asters death and tried to atone despite not causing it and should be able to live as a human. Varius speaks to Ratatosk seeing in his heart that he wants this idea to become true and as the wish completes Richter gets Ratatosk's mark on his forehead and Ratatosk transfers over to him. We see Marta over a bridge talking to Emil in her heart trying to atone herself for what she did in the Vanguard for her crimes... Emil walks near her and as she turns she can't beleive her eyes. She stands there for the moment shocked. She then rushes in to hug Emil deeply and look into his eyes. The choir plays and we zoom out from that scene...we all know what that signifies...Time to leave them and return to our own world...Damnit...I'll miss you guys!

We go down the elevator only to see Richter and Lloyd having a duel. Emil jumps in and Richter has decided that his form no longer makes a diffrence to him and he will kill him! After a long battle with Richter Emil does his Mystic arte. Richter remembers it from somewhere and says he is definatly Ratatosk!?!? Whaaat. Richter reflects it back and Emil sees the memory of him looking down on Aster and Richter asking for Ratatosk's help due to a misbalance of mana destroying the world. After pleding Ratatosk decides he will awake the Centurions to restore the mana balance but also instructs them to destroy the human and half elf races!? What thats insane! He goes by the reasoning of they would just destroy the tree again and that people are parasites. Emil tries to reason with him but Ratatosk uses...that arte! and kills Aster!. Richter distressed and angry draws his swords at Ratatosk and slashs at him. Emil suddenly remembers all of this and his memories falling to his knees in disbeleif. Richter goes in for the finishing strike but Lloyd gets in the way to protect Emil. They have a wesome sword fight but Richter gets away thanks to Alice and her flying monsters...Ugh. I can't beleive all this Emil, Ratatosk really!?

We reach Verius the summon spirit of heart. Verius can see that Emil is conflicted over what he wants to do. Since Emil has not decided what he wants to do she can't use her power yet. When the time comes he will be able to call her when he has made the decision. Emil apologizes for the wasted journey. As they leave the whole world shakes. It seems like a earthquake...but is it really. Emil is on the floor in pain switching to Ratatosk.... RICHTER IS OPENING THE DOOR!? BUT HOW!? Ratatosk flips out in pain trying to keep the door closed but he doesn't have enough power due to lack of Centurions. Lloyd tries to help him but Ratatosk comes at him witha sword knocking Lumen's core out of him. Ratatosk hatches Lumen and has a flash back of that day when Marta asked for his help... It turns out it was Lloyd all along which helped Marta. Ratatosk was just standing there dazed without memory... Oh man what a twist. Emil wakes up apologizing to Lloyd for taking the core like that. They decide to go to town to talk.

From what I gather, this is what they say: Richter: So, the shepherd of regeneration will lead this world to destruction? Regal: I trust my friend Emil ... and Ratatosk. Richter: Ratatosk is intent on destroying the world. Regal: What you're doing is the same; you're attempting to turn this world into a demonic realm. Richter: Hmmph, I guess that's how it would look from where you're standing. Regal: I don't know what you're thinking, but we have a duty to protect this world that we regenerated. In the name of my eternal beloved, I will stop you! Richter: Then in the name of my friend, I will kill you all!
