Clip from "ANGÉLIQUE", (RIGHTIME PRODUCTIONS, RECFILM - FILM TONIC DISTRIBUTION, CBC, WTN, Super 16mm, Canada, 1999, 23min), Starring Marlyne Afflack, Gillian Ferrabee and Robin Wilcock, Yves Dupiton, Blair Thomas, Produced by Michael Kronish & Robert Gervias: Rightime Productions Written by Peter Farbridge Directed by Michael Jarvis, Nominated for Best Short Film, Best Actress, the story is based upon the true story Marie Josephe Angelique, a South African Princess enslaved against her will and falsely convicted of burning down 18th century Montreal. The film faced scrutiny because Michael took the position that she did not set the fire. On April 11, 2006, 300 years to the day the city was engulfed in flames, her case was declared a "miscarriage of justice" and the Governor General of Canada, Hatienne-Born Michaëlle Jean, citing "sweet revenge", dedicated a plaque in her honour on the site of her alleged crime. Michael has developed her story into a full-length feature film script with Producer/writer Jeremy Hood entitled IVORY ASHES/ CÉNDRES D'IVOIRE(VF).
