The Red Baron - Trailer

Baron Manfred von Richthofen (Schweighöfer) is the most feared and celebrated pilot of the German air force in World War I. To him and his companions, air combats are events of sporty nature, technical challenge and honorable acting, ignoring the terrible extent of war. But after falling in love with the nurse Käte (Headey), Manfred realizes he is only used for propaganda means. Caught between his disgust for the war, and the responsibility for his fighter wing, von Richthofen sets out to fly again.

Snoopy vs The Red Baron

Disclaimer: I do not own Snoopy or any of the characters from the Peanuts series, they all belong to the late great Charles Shultz. I also do not own the song Snoopy and the Red Baron by the Royal Guardsmen, it's simply my very favorite Christmas song. This is a late Christmas gift to everyone who's commented on and watched my videos over the last year. Merry Christmas everyone and thanks for being a part of my hobbies!

Funeral of the Red Baron

Incidents in connection with the funeral of Captain Baron von Ritchofen, Germany's leading airman. At the time of his death, Baron von Richthofen was the greatest air ace of the First World War. He had shot down 80 opponents. As such his passing was treated with great respect and he was accorded a full military funeral. The funeral was conducted by the personnel of No. 3 Squadron Australian Flying Corps in the cemetery at Bertangles, a village near the city of Amiens. Six flying officers with the rank of captain, the same rank as Richthofen, served as pallbearers and other ranks from the squadron provided a guard of honour. A number of memorial wreaths were sent, including one from 5th Australian Division Headquarters and one from the Royal Air Force. Each wreath bore the German colours. This footage is believed to have been shot by an official cinematographer from the War Records Department. A number of official reporters and photographers were also present to record such an historic event. After his death Richthofen's Fokker Triplane was taken apart by souvenir hunters. At the beginning of the film you can see members of No. 3 Squadron AFC, picking over the remnants of his aircraft. In 1925 Richthofen's body was recovered and buried in the Invalidenfriedhof Cemetery in Berlin. In 1975 his body was exhumed again and buried in his family's tomb in Wiesbaden. [F00032]

'Real' vintage dogfight: Snoopy vs. Red Baron

You'll certainly know the videoclip of the dogfight between two R/C models. A scale Fokker Triplane vs a selfmade Snoopy on a flying doghouse... I found the clip somewhere last year and replaced some scenes by others featuring the Red Baron and Snoopy, to let it look like a real vintage movie.... Here someone posted the original clip: www.youtube.com BTW: Tune by Royal Guardsmen

PS22 Chorus David "NOT THE RED BARON" by Tori Amos

ps22chorus.blogspot.com David made such a hit this night with his brilliant rendition of Tori Amos' Not The Red Baron. This is one of my all time faves!! He performed this when he hosted our American Idol competition. You can also see David's American Idol audition and some of his hosting skills elsewhere on our website and on YouTube. Red Baron, 1980 Atari

Not-bad vector shooter; basically Battlezone involving biplanes. You fly over mountainous landscapes shooting at enemy biplanes and blimps, and also targets nestled in the mountains. All of them have the capability to shoot back at you. If they connect or the planes get behind you and shoot you, you see holes appear across the screen and you're done for. You might also want to avoid crashing into the mountains. There is a rapid fire option, but if you hold down the trigger too long your guns overheat and you have to wait a few seconds before firing again. You'll want to shoot the planes as soon as you can; the further away they are the higher the value. I found this game to be a great shooter, but it somehow didn't sell too well and died quickly at the arcades. Shame.

Flight with the Red Baron Squadron - May 12, 2005

Red Baron Squadron Media Flight Newport News, Virginia area Thursday May 12, 2005 IN THIS VIDEO, watch as I bring the video camera along for a flight with the Red Baron Squadron as they were one of the featured performers for the 2005AirPower Over Hampton Roads airshow at Langley AFB. We took off and landed from Patrick Henry Field, better known as Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport (KPHF) and performed some formation flying before breaking off to do our own thing. I flew with Bill Stein, the right wing pilot on the team at that time, who actually offered to take me up as early as December 2003, and renewed his promise in December 2004, as I did not get a chance to fly with the team in 2004. Special thanks to Bill Stein and the rest of the team, including their sponsor for allowing this flight to take place. Like what you've seen? Well, if you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take time to check out Steve's Airshow World at www.stevesairshow.com .

Iced Earth - Red Baron/Blue Max

Red Baron/Blue Max is my favourite song from the Iced Earth album The Glorious Burden. This video is comprised of footage taken (without permission) from two movies. The first is the 2006 flick Flyboys, and the 2nd being none other then the late 2008 German film The Red Baron. It took me awhile, but here it is at last. Hope you like it. The son of a major, Prussian nobleman His name bestowed by a holy Roman The war broke out, so he looked to the air 24 hours of training and he was there 100 miles an hour Top speed his plane would fly And if he flew behind you You know you're sure to die 80 kills that are confirmed While other pilots had so much More to learn Chorus: The red baron, blue max The albatross flies high The red baron, blue max He's got you in his sights The red battle flyer, red like fire He sees no faces, he's the ace of aces His British quarry flew a reckless flight A shot from the ground took the red baron's life He flew with honor, he flew with pride In 1918 the battle flyer died Chorus

Billy Cobham - Snoopy's Search/Red Baron (1973)

AMG: Drummer Billy Cobham was fresh from his success with the Mahavishnu Orchestra when he recorded his debut album, Spectrum, which is still his best. Most of the selections showcase Cobham in a quartet with keyboardist Jan Hammer, guitarist Tommy Bolin, and electric bassist Lee Sklar. Two other numbers include Joe Farrell on flute and soprano, and trumpeter Jimmy Owens with guitarist John Tropea, Hammer, bassist Ron Carter, and Ray Barretto on congas. The generally high-quality compositions (which include "Red Baron") make this fusion set a standout, a strong mixture of rock-ish rhythms and jazz improvising.

Red Baron c 27/03/1918 - Lost Somme film, 73rd kill

On March 27, 1918, 11 Squadron Bristol Fb2 aircraft #B1332/N with pilot Capt Henry Russell Child & 2nd Lt Alan Reeve observer onboard were tasked with flying a reconnaisance mission over Chuignolles to check on artillery and trench movements, south of Bray-sur-Somme in the Somme, in the same area Von Richthofen is flying an afternoon sortie when at 16:35 he attacks a Brittish F2b and they were shot down behind German lines. Killed Capt Child and Reeve in Bristol B1332 become the 73rd Victims of the Red Baron. There are several military cemeteries close to the crash site at Chuignolles that contain unidentified flyers from the Royal Flying Corps, Child and Reeve are both commemorated on the Arras Flying Services Memorial. Their actual graves to this day like so many others remain waiting to be discovered. Within weeks of this footage Richthofen would also perish, he is seen here disscusing his 73rd victory with Kurt Wolff his close friend. The silver cup was his award to himself for his kills.
