This remasterd song is off of the bootleg album now and then In January 1994, Paul McCartney was given two tape cassettes by Lennon's widow Yoko Ono that included home recordings of songs Lennon never completed or released commercially. The songs on the tape included the eventually completed and released "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love", in addition to two other songs was a tape with the words "for Paul" scrawled hastily in John's handwriting, which included "Grow Old With Me" and "Now and Then". In March 1995, the three surviving Beatles began work on "Now and Then" by recording a rough backing track that was to be used as an overdub. However, after only two days of recording, all work on the song ceased and plans for a third reunion single were scrapped permanently. According to McCartney, George Harrison "didn't want to do it,"[1] possibly because new verses would have had to be written. Producer Jeff Lynne reported that "It was one day—one afternoon, really—messing with it. The song had a chorus but is almost totally lacking in verses. We did the backing track, a rough go that we really didn't finish."[1] An additional factor behind scrapping the song was a technical defect in the original recording. Like "Real Love", a 60 cycles mains hum can be heard throughout Lennon's demo recording. Then a few years back with a stroke of luck, I found a small company who finds and restores impossible to find albums. Dapzero Remasterd Episode Zero Preview!
Just a little preview of this episode that happens before episode 1, I thought it would be better to make a better beginning with some background information. I like it better myself to know a background of some characters in stories so i'm doing that with this episode, I'm also thinking of remaking a couple of the first episodes, not changing the story but it's more about making the scenes in it better now that I have more the hang of it on how I can control the scenes the way i want them to be in the series,so after I have remade the episodes that i felt like making I'll continue where,so episode 13 will take a while. Following McCartney II's release, Wings regrouped in October 1980 to begin what would be their final recording sessions, whereby several songs later to appear on Tug of War and Pipes of Peace were rehearsed and recorded. Feeling the need for direction, McCartney called upon his old producer, George Martin, to begin recording a song written for the animated Rupert Bear character (of which McCartney owned the rights), entitled "We All Stand Together," among others. The productive sessions continued until 9 December, the morning McCartney woke up to discover his old songwriting partner and fellow ex-Beatle, John Lennon, had been shot and killed the night before in New York City. Abandoning that day's session part-way through (where he and Denny Laine were recording future B-Side "Rainclouds"), both Martin and McCartney felt it was best to leave the project for the time being and start anew once they were ready. In February 1981, two months after Lennon's death, Paul McCartney resumed his sessions, recording that month with Stevie Wonder, Stanley Clarke, Carl Perkins and Ringo Starr and laying down several songs in the process. Ex-10cc guitarist Eric Stewart also became a frequent collaborator of McCartney's during this era. Further sessions that summer were also undertaken at George Martin's AIR studios at Oxford Street, London — with the producer manning the controls and giving McCartney's music the benefit of 1980s technology.
