Huge Tiger Reticulated Python
All of 21 feet and 175 lbs this tiger retic is a sight to behold. She is the largest female retic I have ever seen in person. --- English --- The name python comes from a mythical giant serpent in Greek mythology. Pythons are primitive snakes that, like their close relatives the boas, still show signs of lizard ancestry. Pythons have traces of a pelvis and two tiny spurlike hind limbs, usually better developed in the male. They also have two functioning lungs, one large and one small—more advanced snakes have only a single lung. Pythons range from about 1 to 10 m (about 3 to 33 ft) long and can weigh up to 140 kg (about 300 lb). Female pythons tend to be larger than males. . Their jaws can have up to 200 backward curving teeth, designed to grip prey and prevent it from pulling away. The reticulated python of Southeast Asia is among the largest snakes, reaching a length of 10 m (33 ft). Pythons mainly ambush prey, using their forked tongues to detect odors. Surgery on a 17 foot Reticulated Python named Teresa
Teresa is a 17 foot Super Tiger Reticulated Python. She got an abcess in her lip that would have mamed her for life if we did not take care of it. We decided to feed her a 12 pound piglet and work on the problem lip between the time it takes her to get from the front shoulders of the pig to the hind feet. Once the legs are down the throat she will be back in action looking for piglet #2! Thank you to Dr. Todd Driggers and Avian & Exotic Animal Hopital for their assistance with this procedure.

Jackie is a great guy, and is one of the snake handlers at the King Cobra Farm over in Ao Nang, Thailand. He has been bitten by many snakes - most recently a 3 meter long python got him during the show. He says that 1 tooth got him, will it ripped the hell out of his finger. This happened 4 days ago, but his finger is still very nasty looking. Thailand snakes - nothing to play with. Muahahaha.

Venkman115 and numerous others have been asking me to do a care video on reticulated pythons, even though it is basically the same as burms but, here it is. I try to talk about some of the care tips that I have found through research and personal experience with my 2010 tiger male and 2011 lavender albino female. I just give a general talk on them. You need to do thorough research if you plan to keep this species! This is not a beginner snake; adults have the potential to kill you! Remember what you are gettting yourself into and if you do plan on keeping this species, make sure you can properly house and feed it.
