Robin Gibb has died of Colon Cancer at the age of 62. Born Robin Hugh Gibb on December 22nd in 1949 to Barbara and Hugh Gibb in Douglas, Isle of Man. Co-founder of one of the most influential bands of the 20th century, The Bee Gees (Brothers Gibb) along with twin brother Maurice and eldest brother Barry. There was one other brother, the youngest, Andy Gibb, who died tragically at the age of 30 with a heart attack. Robins twin brother Maurice died in January 2003. The Bee Gees will be remembered for many things but it will be for their work on the film saturday Night Fever that will be highlighted, which for me is a shame as I am a massive fan of the early songs, such as 'To Love Somebody' " First of May' 'New York Mining Disaster' and the likes, they also made some fantastic music later on in their careers that eclipsed, in my opinion, the Disco era stuff. Each to his own I say. The Bee Gees (or Beegees) wrote for other artists and their list of hits is probably second only to Lennon and McCartney but not by much, Dionne Warwick, Celine Dion, Dianna Ross, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers are just a few of the giants of music that owe some of their sucess to the Bee Gees. RIP Robin Hugh Gibb, singer, songwriter, producer, performer and good egg! Video: Doylie45 www.myluxuryvillas.com
