ROBO-ONE 11: Final Match - Yokozuna Great vs. Chrome Kid
ROBO-ONE 11: Dr. GIY Pulls Off A Hat Trick www.robots-dreams.com The term "hat trick" in sports refers to winning three times, and on Sunday evening during the final bout of the two day ROBO-ONE 11 competition www.robots-dreams.com , Dr. GIY and Yokozuna Great finished an absolutely perfect hat trick. Back in January, Dr. GIY won the ROBO-ONE Grand Prix Championship competing in numerous bouts over a period of six weeks. Then on Sunday, against an extremely tough field of robot competitors, his robot managed to win the championship for its weight classification, and went on to fight Chrome Kid for the ROBO-ONE 11 Grand Championship. The 32 robots that qualified for the final day's bouts were divided into two equal groups of 16 by weight. By point of reference, the final rankings for the heavier classification was KZR-5 (32cm 2.9kg) in 3rd place, Ivre (35cm 2.95kg) in 2nd place, and Yokozuna Great (40cm 2.9kg) in 1st place. For the lighter weight classification the ranking was King Kizer (40cm 2.7kg) in 3rd place, Taekwon-V (43cm 2.6kg) in 2nd place, and Chrome Kid (38cm 2.61kg) in 1st place. Just to win its robot weight classification, Yokozuna Great had to win four really hard matches. Then, with only a short break to catch his breath and swap out batteries, Dr. GIY had to have the robot back in the ring and ready to do battle. ROBO JAPAN 2008 ASIMO : Diginfo
At ROBO JAPAN 2008 in Yokohama, Honda demonstrated ASIMO. ASIMO is being developed with the expectation of actually using it in daily life in the near future. ASIMO is 130 cm tall and weighs 54 kg. It uses advanced walking technology to walk upright at 6 km/h. Even when both of ASIMOs feet are off the ground, it can actively control its posture, so that it walks in a straight line. ASIMO uses eye cameras on its head and force sensors on its wrists to detect the motion of people. It can reliably hand objects to people, and receive them as well. ASIMO can also combine walking with arm movements to give a dance performance. A technology improvement announced at the end of 2005 enables better overall body coordination, so ASIMO can move more flexibly and faster while keeping its balance.

Story: tinyurl.com One of the most surprising robots that appeared at the 9th Robo-One competition held here in Tokyo on March 18-19th, 2006, was LAYERED-X developed by Asurada. Its unique design allows it to reconfigure and transform itself into some amazing shapes. At first it looks like a short tower, then becomes a carousel, then a walking spider, then into a tall biped battle robot. It can even transform an arm into a new leg and keep on fighting. Here it is, my final round entry for TOFA 2010. After next to no sleep for 16 days i've managed to crack out a 7 minute 20 second cartoon. I feel dead. The theme for the final round was "A Second Chance" and thus we had to make a 30 second - 10 minute animation in 18 days centered around that theme. I had some trouble at first coming up with an idea which wasn't done before. First i wanted to do a story about pigs but it got far to complex to work in the 'second chance' theme. I then wanted to do something about a woman wanting a child but that got too close to pixars 'Up' in a sense. I then decided to settle with A Robot western setting. Personally i didn't like this. I wanted to change the script so badly, i wanted to add in more back story for One eye, for the fact that flash was being a huge ass crashing every minute and refusing me to add anything else i couldn't do those things. I even had to download a trail version of a newer flash to finish this since the memory leak on the file got so big that it was eating 2 gb's of my system memory when running in flash 8! Not to dissapoint my talented opponent, ~DaveBruno i forced myself to finish this. I hope you enjoy it for what it's worth~ Win, lose, this animation tournament has been alot of fun at the end of the day~ I'd like to thank *TheSkark for one again coming to my aid with voices, as well as working with ~TomaMoto for the first time.
