The Musée Rodin in Paris, France, is a museum that was opened in 1919 in the Hôtel Biron and surrounding grounds. It displays works by the French sculptor Auguste Rodin. Rodin used the Hôtel Biron as his residence from 1908, and subsequently donated his entire collection of sculptures (along with paintings by Vincent van Gogh and Pierre-Auguste Renoir that he had acquired) to the French State on the condition that they turn the building into a museum dedicated to his works. The Musée Rodin contains most of Rodin's significant creations, including The Thinker and The Kiss. Many of his sculptures are displayed in the museum's extensive garden. This video contains a few clips slapped together demonstrating various electrical and magnetic properties of Rodin coils. Please excuse my poor control of volume and thanks to my assistant Mickey for running the camera. 1. Beginning is a demonstration of electrical induction from high-powered (42N) 1/2 inch diameter x 1 inch long magnets stacked in a configuration of 4 moved perpendicular to the opening of the coils. First part is on a typical laminate countertop, second is on a piece of 1/8 inch plexiglass. 3. A rodin coil is a toroid with a wire schematic with the least acute angle possible. The magnetic feild is powerfully centered in it's center. How to make a rodin coil... 1) you need to find the circumference of the toroid. This is done by finding the diameter and multiplying that by Pi on the calculator or you could substitute the button with 3.14. you can also find the cercumference by 2(pi)R. 2 times Pi times the radius. the radius is from the center to the outer edge, the diameter is from one edge(outside) to the other outer edge on the other side at an angle of 180 degrees. 2) You need to divide the cercumference into 10 degree = spacings. Do this by taking the cercumference and dividing that by 36. to mark theses distances, wrap tape(masking)around the toroid's cercumference and mark the marks with a ruler. i would suggest using metric units because of the system of 10. 3) put a pin in each of the 36 markings. Be sure to put the pin in the center of the side. I would recommend using 3 different colors. in the video i use Red, Green, and Blue. place the pins in color sets of 3. red, green, blue. red, green blue. red, green, blue... there will be 12 sets of 3 pins. The first pin of the set will be the pin to mark the A coil, the second pin will be tto mark the B coil, and the 3rd pin will be there to mark the C coil which is open space. 4) For your first winding, glue or take the magnet wire to the outer edge of the toroid in the middle by the pin. In this video you can see what happenes if we put the neo magnet on the top of the Rodin coil, instead of the center of the coil. When I put the magnet on to the top of the coil, the Rc run at 4 Hz. After that I increase the freq until 100Hz. (100Hz because it gives stable movement, but it can be other freqs too) We can play with the signal level in the coil. At a certain signal performance the magnet starts to write circular movement around the center of the coil while it spins .(like by the tornadoes; every subject what is in moving is off center of the swirl, vortex) When we set the input performance to a relative high level, the magnet starts to make an oval shape movement but it stays around the focus.(this cannot see on this video, but you can try it) In my opinion it stays around the center and make circular movement because it is in resonance with the center of the Rodin-coil, like planets around the Sun. .... Each strip here represents one nested vortice on the 18x36 toroid as discussed by Randy Powell. These 6 strips therefore becoming two further nested vortices when given numerical value. There are six complete nested vortices circuits. I have tried to aid interpretation of the numbers and their patterns by using a specific colour scheme. This is somewhat arbitrary, however I have grouped the 3,6,9s as oranges, reds. The 2,5,8's are blues, and the 1,4,7's are greens. The negative charged numbers are darker and the positive lighter. If anyone has any comments or corrections please do get in touch. I am fairly new to all this so value feedback that can help me achieve the most complete understanding - if 'complete' is the right expression.
