A's MUG Root Beer Float Day set for Wednesday, July 30 A's players and Bay Area celebrities to scoop ice cream for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation OAKLAND -- The Oakland Athletics will host its Ninth Annual MUG Root Beer Float Day at McAfee Coliseum on Wednesday, July 30, as the A's meet the Kansas City Royals at 12:35 pm Local celebrities along with radio and television personalities and newspaper reporters will be serving root beer floats in the East Side Club from 10:35 am to 1 pm with proceeds benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Admission is free to the event with a ticket for that afternoon's 12:35 pm game between the A's and Royals. The root beer floats will be priced at $2 each and additional money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will be raised through tips given in exchange for autographs and pictures with the celebrity scoopers. In addition, 32oz. mugs with unlimited root beer float refills will be sold for $15 and a limited supply of 32oz. mugs autographed by Mark Ellis will be available for $25. Additional proceeds are raised through an on-line auction titled "Be a Celebrity Scooper" and a silent auction of sports memorabilia. I just got 188425 in Root Beer Tapper on XBLA which put me in 12th place on the leaderboards. I started recording during my second run through the levels but the strategies I use can be applied to the punk bars and alien bars which some people are having trouble completing for the achievements. Hope you learn something from this but the best tip I can give is try not to get the mugs until theyre just about to fall off so you can send more mugs down other rows first. Of course this isnt always preferable.

Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of the arcade game Root Beer Tapper from Midway. Released to dive bars in 1983, Tapper was basically an interactive advertisement for Budweiser. In addition to drinking what was largely implied to be Budweiser beverages, Tapper also prominently featured the company's logo — hardly an issue for bar patrons, more of a problem for underage players and zit-faced arcade dwellers. So a year later, Midway released Root Beer Tapper, Tapper's kid-safe, arcade-friendly, non-alcoholic cousin — all the Pilsner taste, with none of the buzz that makes it bearable. Root Beer Tapper is the exact same game as the original version. Swap Budweiser branding with new logos, and you've basically got Root Beer Tapper. So in this case, you play as a soda jerk, and it's your job to slide frosty mugs of root beer down to parched customers before they reach the end of the bar.
