There's nothing like putting some stress on the shooter in cold conditions to test his combat shooting skills. Come on along for another Nutnfancy "Armed Serenity" shootout with the crew, now an annual event! It took me weeks of planning and logistical prep but it was worth it. Engagements were diverse and entertaining but all were timed, scored, and RAN so as to add stress and elevate heart rate. None were easy. Tactical Instructor "SadlyMissing" provided excellent shooting tips before the fun kicked off. Drills consisted of urban combat window engagements from "The Scrambler" building simulator, a running 100 to 7 yard tactical carbine course of fire (with oblique bad guys) which transitioned to a 6 rd failure drill with pistol, an uphill, running 200 yard steel plate engagement, and night time operations with .22 AR-15s on 25 to 75 yard steel plates. Players included Nutnfancy and long time TNP Crew members and friends BuggetNuster, SadlyMissing, ArmedSerenity, ScooterMcCoy, and VociferousWad. Also for coming along for the adventure this time: AKFokker, GTFDude, USAFIntell, Narcisist83, JMo, DrHeckles, and Yebache. Let's check out a preliminary run of a LWRC M6A2 carbine paired up with Glock 34 to go run the Nutnfancy "Sledgehammer" Drill. Conditions were high winds, about 25 mph, dispersed with blowing snow at times (for later runs). A few surprises were in store for this system as run by Nutnfancy Project alumni, "SadlyMissing." It seems the MagPul Mulit-Mission sling detached itself during the running phase as the worst possible time... the rifle got left in the dirt. The retention toggle wasn't fastened up as apparently recommended by the MagPul guys; another bad idea revealed as such in realistic shooting conditions (the SH is famous for revealing system flaws...keep watching)! Pressing past the pain of a kidney stone (!), Sadly actually turns in a good performance in this single run of the system: 45 pts. Pistol shooting was steller and the carbine performed flawlessly and with great accuracy. Lighweight, accurate, reliable, and well-built, the LWRC M6 is an outstanding albeit, expensive, piston AR-15 design. Well played Sadly.

In a previous video, I gave high marks to the Spyderco Tenacious, and declared it to be an outstanding EDC/defensive knife. One criticism I leveled was the 8cr13mov steel's propensity to rust. I mentioned the possibility of having the knife duracoated to rectify this problem and in this update video I show the finished product, fresh from MissionSpec Camo. This outfit, run by Youtuber "SadlyMissing" did an amazing job coating my knife in Matte Black. They went way beyond my expectations! Not only was the quality of the work superb, but they went beyond my original request to just coat the blade and clip, by coating the handle screws and the liners! But that's NO excuse and every service pistol should run 100% in hard conditions, just like I say in my tabletop reviews. But if can pull out these failures in different guns with my drills, I'm stoked as it provides knowledge for my subscribers. I don't condemn these guns and I suspect all will be running 100% with some work (and perhaps different magazines in some cases). We press on through these surprises and put in some serious work on the Nutnfancy "Tee Dub" handgun drill. Shooters included current TNP Crew Members SadlyMissing and PFIDude and guest shooter OfficerJared (seen last year in a TNP video). I recommend Defensive Loadout Level 1 for the runs which is basically a service pistol, mags, and carriers. These work. If I'm just loading a few mags then I will just do it manually. But for extending shooting sessions or duty use, Maglula, Uplula, or Striplula help a lot and we've shown the Maglula in action in TNP for awhile. These speed loaders also affordable and widely available. I've used a few other loading systems but these are the best so far. The Nutnfancy "Armed Serenity" 2009 shooting get together continues! Part four of this raw video footage picks up with team BuggetNuster and ArmedSerenity leading the charge in running the 100 yard to 7 yard engagement scenario. The running elevates heart rate, adds a sense of urgency, and the competitveness (and shouting!) add to the stress levels. Whereas a good shooter might print a 2" 3 round group with his tactical carbine from the bench at 100 yds, he will be very lucky (and good) to keep these shots within the small head area of the humanoid target shown. These videos prove this clearly. I also show the mistakes, the exertion, and the results of the shooting to help show the realities, not fantasies, of some tactical shooting exercises (which I feel are representative). Two things are necessary to dominate these shooting exercises I feel (after having done it a lot); having a squared away system that works (reliable and accurate gun, optics, LBE, etc) and and being able "de-tune" your anxiety level to ensure better performance. This comes from practice under stressed conditions (RunNGun baby!). Windy desert shooting by PFIDude with the 7.62x39mm version of the Robinson Arms XCR. It performed well showing good accuracy, reliability, and decent ergos (.223 version of PFI's not so much). Paired up with his "race gun" FNP45 Tactical with Burris Fast Fire red dot sight, PFIDude pulls down an impressive 53 point Sledgehammer score in this running (5 extra points awarded for fastest run of the set). This is my very basic attempt at a multi-angle compilation of the videos from the Muse.mu website christmas present - a gift to the fans which allows us to see the performance from a number of 360 degree cameras. As someone who was there, I can say it is fitting of a gig that will surely go down as one of the very best of the Resistance tour. A song that is sadly missing now from SFA setlists. This was always a highlight for me. It used to close their set for a period pre-TMDGAF. In any event, this is a version from the TV coverage of Glastonbury in 1999. I was there! This was the year someone drove a van into the moshpit. Strange. Even for Glastonbury. The live version contains the sample of Ken Nordine's 'Orange' track which was not on the album version, but which had been sampled by the Acid Casuals for an early track. Also, one of their early t-shirts had 'The One That Is Orangely Out Of His Head' lyric on the back. Anyway, I digress. This version does not feature Daf on tipanis as some of their post-Radiator/Ice Hockey Hair gigs did, but is a fantastic version nevertheless. Enjoy!

Fantastic, spellbinding early hit for a very young Aster Aweke. A stand-out track on the original 1994 Ethiopian Groove compilation (now long out of print), sadly missing from the Ethiopiques reissue. Following on from releasing her debut single ("Simple Song") to chart / radio airplay & critical success, stunning young Wexford Irish singer songwriter DONNA MARIE releases her sophomore single "I CAN'T SEE IT" on FRIDAY MAY 13TH. The single is taken from her upcoming debut album "MY VOICE".
