Sanday Thaniyata (CD Fonseka Song) - Shirmila Fonseka
Compannage Daniel Fonseka, better known as CDFonseka was born on the 27th February 1932 in Moratuwa. He received his education at St. Sebastian's College Moratuwa. From his early childhood he took a keen interest in music, and followed foot steps of his father who was associated with Sinhala drama and cinema. At the tender age of 18 he released his first song 'Kandukaraye' written by Bertram Denipitiya. He entered into professional music scene in 1950 and had continued success for 34 years with over 100 songs recorded. With his song 'Malsara' in 'Senasuma Kothenada', opened door for CD to enter into Sinhala cinema . CD released his only cassette 'Oyata Rathney' in 1985. Fonseka bade farewell to the music world on the 11th May 1986. This video was broadcasted by ITN on their programme Sanhinda. ITN owns the only live video recording that exists of CD Fonseka that was made in 1985.

Part 3 of A RIDE BEHIND LOCOMOTIVE 'MOLLY', ( A TINKERBELL NG LOCO) From the new railway extension to the carpark & 'SANDAY CENTRAL' 2006. Nine years toil with full planning permission and support from the Orkney Islands Council before their fallout with Master of The Queens Music and caught in the middle as island Registrar. ( Don't believe what you read in the papers at the time.) The only casuality was this wonderful railway that had had over 26000 visitors from all over the world in nine years of existence. RIP SLR.

SLR.BEFORE STAGE 2 TINKERBELL 'MOLLY' IN ORIGINAL GREEN' ABOUT TO GO INTO THE PAINT SHOP. This clip was of Molly soon after arrival on the original line testing for clearances and radius limits. She ran well even on the original line with tighter curves than phase 2 to follow. Driver Josh takes her away through the tunnel into the distance where the neighboring island of 'Eday' can be seen in the distance.... Two hours north of the Orkney mainland. by 2007 we had had over 26000 visitors in nine years...
