Just a show and tell about the new gun I purchased and some thanks owed to a few of my friends. It's a BlackWater edition Sig Sauer P226R. It has some Blackwater logos either etched or engraved into the gun itself. I've not shot this yet, but can't wait to do so. The gun is a full sized Sig chambered in 9mm luger. The ammunition capacity is a 15+1. The gun also came with 5 Sig Sauer 15 rnd magazines. Beautifully machined weapon and finely detailed in every way. If you've owned a Sig Sauer pistol, then you can appreciate the quality and craftsmanship they put into thier line of pistols. A Nutnfancy style of visit to the Sig Sauer booth at the Las Vegas 210 SHOT show! Sig Product Manager Eric Vonbosse is our escort as we talk about many guns in the 2010 SIg product line. And like my other booth visits, I don't just provide a product promotion opportunity for Sig (boring) but instead keep it REAL with product feedback, tie-ins with previous Nutnfancy reviews and testing, kudos where appropriate (lots of places!), and interjecting my own improvement advice at times. First up: we check out the Sig P226 "E2" Enhanced Ergonomics pistol which accommodates hands of smaller shooters. It seems to have a very CZ-75 style of grip that these shooters will love. Add in a short reset trigger, screwless one piece grip (that can also accept regular P226 grips as well...nice!), upgraded grip texture, and updated slide profile for the E2 as well. Despite the large crowd at the booth and the noise, we wind our way through and check out and discuss many other Sig Sauer guns including the Sig P238, Sig556, the Sig716, the Sig522, and P250. The P238 continues to be a hot seller with the "Rainbow" titanium, "Equinox" (with excellent tritium fiber optic sights), dehorned "SAS" model, and "Heavy Duty" steel models now being offered (subject to change). The Sig556 has lost its goofy and bulbous forend and now wears either a alloy quad rail or the slim and very ergonomic classic Sig forend (my favorite). This is my sig Sauer P220 made in West Germany chambered in .45 ACP. The significane of it being made in West Germany is that this is told to be one of sigs periods of highest quality. Over the past few years Sigs quality control has slipped a little bit, leaving these older sigs more desirable. Not only because of their reliability, and accuracy right out of the box, but also because they are made in WEST Germany. If you know anything about history, you will know that Germany is no longer divided into West and East germany. With the destruction of the Berlin wall, these West germany sigs are going to become more and more rare as time goes on. There is more about them for you to look up if you want to learn more, do some research on google or just go to sigforum.com and ask about them, they know more about them than i do. Pete you'll really enjoy this stuff man. Also I was wrong about the european mag release being worth more, if you look in the blook book gun values book, the european mag release is actually worth 10% less it says.

Taking a look at the Sig Sauer P238 subcompact pistol. Chambered for 380 ACP (AKA 9mm short, 9mm Browning) 6 Rounds in the magazine with capability to be carried safely with 1 in the chamber, hammer cocked and safety on. Very small pocket pistol, in the same category as Ruger LCP, Kel-Tec P3AT, Micro Desert Eagle, and others. This, however has a short, light, single-action only trigger pull compared to the typically long, heavy and usually accuracy hindering double-action pull found on most "pocket" 380s. Many of the guns were shipped with defective magazines. It took 3 weeks with no mag and only 1 in the chamber before I received mine back form Sig. I was very disappointed as this was my first Sig Purchased. I expressed my concern to Sig cust. care and received a "gift" shortly thereafter. This has reasonably rectified the situation and rebuilt my complete satisfaction to the point where I hold them in the highest regard as a firearms manufacturer. My next handgun purchase will almost definitely be another Sig Sauer.
