This is a classic and easy to prepare dish that will be a hit with your family! Also see the entire recipe on our website here: isernio.com Time to prep: 10 minutes Time to cook: 50 minutes Serves 4 as a main course SHOPPING LIST: 6 Isernio's Italian Sausage links (pork or chicken) 3 bell peppers - yellow, orange & red- seeded & cut into 1" strips 1 large onion thinly sliced 4 - 5 Tbsp. Olive Oil Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste 2 Tbsp. fresh chopped oregano or 1 tsp. dried oregano Option: 2 large baking potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/4" thick half rounds LET'S COOK Preheat oven to 350°. Heat 1 Tbsp. olive oil in a large skillet on medium heat, brown the sausage on both sides, about 4 minutes per side until lightly browned, set skillet aside. Sausage does not need to be cooked through, just browned on the outside. Place the onion, peppers and oregano in a large bowl. Drizzle generously with about 4 Tbsp. olive oil and season well with salt and pepper. Mix well. Place the browned sausages, peppers & onion mixture on a large rimmed baking sheet or roasting pan, uncovered. Bake at 350° for 50 minutes, stirring occasionally. OPTION: If you have a Convection Oven, bake at 350° on "Convection" for 30 minutes, stirring half way through cooking. If you add potatoes, they will brown better in a convection oven. Taste for salt & pepper, serve immediately.

Betty's Spaghetti with Italian Sausage and Peppers Recipe


In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make a hearty and tasty dish, Spaghetti with Italian Sausage and Peppers. This dish is a large platter of spaghetti topped with a rich sauce of Italian Sausage and green and red bell peppers and onions. There is a sprinkling of Romano cheese and parsley to top it off. Ingredients: 18-oz. hot Italian link sausage, cut into 1/2-inch slices (You may use more or less sausage, and you may substitute mild inn place of the hot, if you like.) 2 green bell peppers, washed and cut into strips about 1-inch long 2 red bell peppers, washed and cut into strips about 1-inch long 2 medium onions, peeled and cut into chunks about 1-inch long 24-oz. jar of Italian sauce (I used Prego Traditional, but any Italian sauce will do.) 14-oz. jar of pizza sauce (Any pizza or Italian sauce will be fine.) 16-oz. spaghetti, cooked according to package directions (I cooked only 8 oz. spaghetti, and used only half of the sauce, freezing the remainder of the sauce for a pasta meal later.) 1/2 cup grated Pecorino Romano cheese (You may use any type of Romano or Parmesan cheese, and you may use more or less than the 1/2 cup.) 1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley, washed, dried, and snipped (You may use more or less than 1/3 cup.) Brown the 18-oz. sliced Italian sausage in a deep skillet over medium heat. Stir gently to brown, but do not stir vigorously, as this will crumble the sausage.) In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make an Italian Sausage and Green Pepper Skillet--one of her husband's favorite meals! Ingredients: 1 pound Italian sausage 1 medium onion, chopped 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped 4 medium cloves garlic, minced 14.5 oz. can of Italian-seasoned diced tomatoes 1 pound rigatoni pasta (You may use any type of pasta.) 1/2 tablespoon salt 1 tablespoon olive oil (Salt and olive oil are for cooking rigatoni.) 2 tablespoons fresh sweet basil, chopped (Use 2 teaspoons, if you are using dried sweet basil.) 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (Use 2 teaspoons, if you are using dried.) 3/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese (divided) 1/2 cup olive oil In a deep skillet, crumble 1 pound of Italian sausage, and cook over medium heat, stirring often, until sausage begins to brown. Add 1 medium chopped onion and 1 medium chopped green pepper. Cook until the onion is soft and clear. Spoon off any excess fat. Add 4 cloves of minced garlic, and cook for 1 minute. Now, add a14.5 oz can of Italian-seasoned diced tomatoes. Stir, until combined. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for about 10 minutes. While your sausage mixture is simmering, cook 1 pound of rigatoni. (I place the rigatoni in boiling water, along with 1/2 tablespoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and cook it for about 10 minutes--until al dente.) Drain and set aside. I cheated a little bit and didn't use the same bread or "gravy", but it turned out freakin awesome and extra tasty. This recipe made at least two dinners and a lunch for my husband and I. I hope you are still able to enjoy the recipe and the video even if I "ahh" or "umm" too much.. In this Low Carb recipe video, I make one of the easiest breakfast ideas and perhaps one of the best recipes to bring to a potluck. It is a Low Carb Sausage Quiche with peppers and onions. This quiche is acceptable for Induction and latter phases. "Real men do eat quiche!" :-) Instructions: 1. Brown 1.5 pounds sausage 2. Sautee 2 Medium Peppers and 1 onion 3. Preheat Oven to 350 degrees 4. Beat 6 eggs and 1 cup Heavy Cream. Add 1 tsp Salt and .5 tsp pepper. Add 8 oz of cheese (your choice) 5. Grease 13x9 baking pan 6. Cover bottom of pan with Sausage/onion/pepper mixture. Pour Cream, Cheese, Egg mixture over top. 7. Bake for 40-45 minutes until slightly brown on top. Nutrition Info: (1 serving 1/12th) 380 Calories 32.25g Fat 2.75g Carbs (.5g Fiber - 2.25g Net Carbs) 19.5g Protein (IF = Induction Friendly)

Recipe is below Ingredients 8 ounces uncooked spaghetti 1 (1-lb.) package mild Italian sausage, casings removed 1 medium onion, cut into eighths 1 medium-size green bell pepper, cut into strips 1 medium-size red or yellow bell pepper, cut into strips 2 to 3 garlic cloves, minced 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 (28-oz.) can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic, and oregano 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Preparation 1. Prepare pasta according to package directions. 2. Meanwhile, cook sausage in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat 8 to 10 minutes or until meat is no longer pink, breaking sausage into pieces while cooking. Remove sausage and drippings from Dutch oven, and drain well on paper towels. 3. Sauté onion and next 3 ingredients in hot oil in Dutch oven over medium-high heat 5 to 6 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender. Stir in tomatoes, salt, and pepper; cook 4 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Stir in sausage, pasta, and cheese. Transfer mixture to serving platter, and serve immediately.

They are made of browned Italian sausage slices, mixed with sautéed green and red peppers and onion, placed in hollowed out bolillo buns that are toasted and spread with mayonnaise and Italian sauce. They are quick and easy to make, and this recipe will make a lot of them! These hoagies will warm your tummy and also your heart! Ingredients: 2/3 pound Italian sausage (2 links, hot or mild, with casings removed) 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil ½ green bell pepper, chopped ½ red bell pepper, chopped ½ medium onion, chopped hoagie buns (I used whole wheat unsliced bolillo buns, which I hollowed out and filled, but any type of unsliced hoagie bun is fine. Note: If you get sliced hoagie buns, you will need to put the filling on top of each half, and after they are baked in the oven, put the two halves together to complete the hoagie.) mayonnaise, to taste Italian sauce, to taste (I used Prego chunky vegetable.) finely shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, as needed sliced Provolone cheese, as needed Chop ½ green bell pepper, ½ red bell pepper, and ½ medium onion. Place 1 tablespoon olive oil in a medium skillet. Add the chopped vegetables and sauté them until softened and the onions are clear. 8 oz. Italian sausage links (I used mild Italian sausage) 1 pkg. (1 lb) frozen mixed pepper stir-fry veggies, thawed and drained (I used fresh, SO MUCH BETTER!) 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce 1 (15 oz) container of ricotta cheese 1 pkg (8 oz) shredded mozzarella cheese 1 pkg (12 oz) jumbo pasta shells, cooked and drained Preheat oven to 350. Coat 3 qt. baking dish with Pam. In skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned, about 12 minutes. Cool; cut into 1/4 inch thick slices. In same skillet over medium high heat, cook peppers until browned, 3 minutes. Remove 1/2 cup, set aside. To the remaining peppers, add the marinara sauce, 1/2 cup water and the cooked & sliced sausage. Cook until sausage is cooked through, 3 minutes. Spread 1/2 c. sauce mixture in dish. Chope up the reserved ppers and mix it with the ricotta, 1-1/2 cups of mozzarella, 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Spoon into shells; place in dish. Top with remaining sauce mixture; cover. Bake 40 minutes. Uncover, sprinkle with remaining mozzarella. Bake until melted, 5 minutes. This is OMG good, people. Use fresh peppers. They still have a little bit of snap in them and that is GOOD. Ways I would consider making this in the future: Adding thinly sliced onions. Possibly adding mushrooms (I am NOT a fan of mushrooms--they are slimy, nasty creatures--but my family loves and adores them, so would take one for the team)... and last but not least, Garlic. Okay, maybe not last. I would consider bumping it up by <b>...</b>

This is my entry. Hope you enjoy!!! Ingredients: 1lb of Italian Sausage 1 box of penne noodles 1 jar of your fave pasta sause(I thought I was going to need two, that's why two are pictured!) 1 onion 1 red bell pepper 1 green bell pepper 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil Chop up the veggies. Set aside. Heat up a pan or skillet with the olive oil. Also get your water ready for the noodles. Cut up the sausage links, about 5/6 pieces per link. Brown up the sausage then add the veggies. Homemade Italian Sausage, Peppers, Onion, Mushroom & Provolone Sub Made From Scratch


I made some fennel and red pepper flake sausage from scratch. Added some fried onions, mushrooms and peppers and made a nice tomato sauce. Put the sausage back in and put it in a sub piece of bread with provolone cheese and melted this spicy beast of a sandwich in the oven. It came out so nicely, and I still have 4 other bags of this sausage in the freezer!

Sweet Sausage & Sticky Rice Stuffed Bell Peppers Ingredients 2 - cups uncooked sweet rice (sticky rice) 1 - 14 oz. can coconut milk 12 - bell peppers (assorted colors) 10 - slices thick smoked bacon (diced) 3 - lbs. mild Italian sausage 1 - lb. pork meat (diced) 20 - oz. Mang Tomas all purpose sauce (product of the Philippines) 1/2 - cup sweet onion (diced) 12 - medium sized mushrooms (sliced) 1/4 - cup green onions (chopped) 1 - tbs. ginger (minced) 1/2 - lb. smoked gouda cheese (grated) Optional Ingredients - coconut (shredded) - mango (diced) Directions Soak sweet rice in cold water the night before making this recipe, rinsing one time before soaking. Drain rice, place in 12 dutch oven and stir in coconut milk, mixing evenly. Place lid on oven, cook with 6 coals under the oven and 10 coals on the lid for 1 hour, with quarter rotations at 15 minute intervals. While rice is cooking, cut a round opening near the top of each bell pepper. Remove core/seeds and place cap of each pepper back in place. Steam bell peppers in 16 dutch oven using large trivet and 1/2 salted water for 30 minutes or until tender using one ring of coals under the oven and 12 coals on the lid, cool and set aside. Remove coals from 12 oven when rice is cooked, leaving covered to slowly cool. Brown bacon, sausage and pork meat in a 16 oven using a solid layer of coals under the oven, drain off excess grease.
