SEA DOGS BEAT OCEANIC IN DOUBLE OVERTIME Audio by Tim Roszell.. Additional video provided by Rogers Sportsnet The Saint John Sea Dogs got off to a roaring start but needed double overtime to finish off the Rimouski Oceanic in Game 1 of the President's Cup final. Saint John scored twice in the first 72 seconds then needed more than 89 minutes before Zack Phillips shovelled in a rebound at 10:18 of double overtime to the delight of a sellout crowd of 6238 at Harbour Station. Nathan Beaulieu and Tomas Jurco scored 27 seconds apart on the opening two shifts and Mathieu Corbeil made 37 saves for the win. Phillips and Jurco each added assists as the Dogs moved one step closer to repeating as Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champions. Alex Belzile scored a power-play goal and set up Peter Trainor's man-advantage marker in the second period to even things up and force overtime. Jacob Chouinard made 36 saves in a losing cause. The Sea Dogs scored on their first shot of the game just 45 seconds in. Phillips sent a pass from the right wing to Beaulieu in the slot, his shot beat Chouinard and the already deafening crowd got even louder. Charlie Coyle had the other assist on the fourth of the playoffs for Beaulieu, who was wearing the captain's 'C' in place of the suspended Jonathan Huberdeau. As that goal was being announced Jurco, threw a low shot on net from the right-wing faceoff circle that got past Chouinard to make it 2-0. Stanislav Galiev and Danick Gauthier picked up ...

GALIEV SENDS DOGS BACK TO FINAL - Audio by Tim Roszell News 88.9 & Nathan White Stanislav Galiev's overtime goal gave the Saint John Sea Dogs a 4-3 win over the Chicoutimi Sagueneens Saturday and booked them a spot in their third straight President's Cup final. Galiev also scored in regulation, Zack Phillips had a goal and an assist and Charlie Coyle tallied the other Saint John goal as the Sea Dogs captured the best-of-seven Quebec Major Junior Hockey League semifinal series in five games. Mathieu Corbeil made 38 saves, several of them in spectacular fashion, to earn the win in the Saint John net. Steve Lebel figured in on all three Chicoutimi goals, scoring one and setting up singles by Dominic Poulin and Yoan Pinette. Christopher Gibson had 39 saves in a losing cause for the Sagueneens. Sagueneens captain Gabriel Vermette turned in an outstanding two-way effort, setting up the tying goal late in the third period, and putting his body on the line to save at least three sure goals. The Dogs were down a man early when Danick Gauthier was called for slashing at 2:40 of the first. Chicoutimi had a chance when Jeremy Gregoire got in behind the defence, but Corbeil made the pad save and stood tall on the rebound try by Etienne Brodeur as well. The Sea Dogs then got the benefit of a fortunate bounce on a power play of their own at 7:40. SEA DOGS EDGE OCEANIC AGAIN - Audio Tim Roszell News 88.9 - Video Merrill's Vision Charlie Coyle set a new team record for playoff scoring as the Saint John Sea Dogs seized a 2-0 lead in the President's Cup final with a 3-2 win in Game 2 Saturday. Coyle scored a short-handed penalty shot goal, and set up a power-play marker by Tomas Jurco to increase his Quebec Major Junior Hockey League-best points total to 32. That's one more than the mark set by Michael Kirkpatrick in 2010. Danick Gauthier also scored for the Sea Dogs and Mathieu Corbeil made 14 saves for the win. Petr Straka had both Rimouski goals and Jacob Chouinard stopped 29 in a losing cause. Corbeil got some help from the goaltender's best friend in the first period. A minute into the game, Straka ripped a wrist shot off the post to Corbeil's left. The fans were once again on their feet and into the game from the opening faceoff. Charles Roussel delivered two big hits in quick succession in the sixth minute to pump them up even more. First the overage defenceman drilled Straka into the Dogs bench, then later in the shift he levelled Peter Trainor at the blueline. With less than five minutes to go in the opening frame the Oceanic hit the post again. This time is was a trailing Casey Babineau ringing a shot off the pipe to Corbeil's right. The Sea Dogs outshot Rimouski 14-4 in the first period and their best chance may have been a Nathan Beaulieu breakaway as he jumped out of the penalty box to rejoin play with a ...

Let's Play! Sea Dogs 2 Ep 1

THE GAME CALLS ITSELF PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN. However. I know it to be the sequel to Sea Dogs, and the main character's name is NOT Nathaniel hawk, OR what I have called him, no. He is, originally, Blaze Devlin, and has NOTHING TO DO with the jack sparrow/black pearl story line, other than one grand crescendo moment when he and the Black Pearl collide.

EP.132.0 SAINT JOHN SEA DOGS VS GATINEAU OLYMPIQUES - SEASON 6 - PRESIDENT CUP FINALS GAME 1

SEA DOGS EDGE OLYMPIQUES IN OPENER The Saint John Sea Dogs squeaked out a 2-1 win over the Gatineau Olympiques in Game 1 of the President's Cup final, finding a way to win after eight days off. Simon Despres scored the winner in the third period to give Saint John a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven Quebec Major Junior Hockey League championship series. Danick Gauthier had the other goal and was named first star, while Pierre Durepos was named third star for his steady defensive presence. Jacob DeSerres made 22 saves for the win. Hubert Labrie was credited with the lone Gatineau goal and Maxime Clermont was named second star in a losing cause for his 35-save performance. Gauthier opened the scoring at 12:35 of the opening frame. The 19-year-old forward broke across the blueline with speed, used a defenseman as a screen and fired a wrist shot high to Clermont's glove side from the top of right-wing circle. Eric Gelinas and DeSerres assisted on the goal, Gauthier's second of the playoffs. The Dogs looked to add to their lead in the second period, outshooting the Olympiques 17-10, with Zack Phillips setting up Jonathan Huberdeau for a couple of great chances on an early power play. But Clermont shut the door long enough for Gatineau to register the equalizer when Labrie's cross-ice pass took a wild bounce into the net at 7:38. Stanislav Galiev had a chance to put the Dogs back on top on a breakaway in the 15th minute, but Clermont came up with a left pad save on the dangerous ...

Audio Provided by Tim Roszell News 88.9 The Saint John Sea Dogs welcomed Minnesota Wild first-round draft pick Zack Phillips back into the lineup Saturday, as he helped them win 6-2 over the early-season powerhouse Acadie-Bathurst Titan in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action. Stanislav Galiev had two goals and an assist for the Sea Dogs and Phillips registered a Gordie Howe hat-trick with a goal, assist and a fight. Danick Gauthier added two goals, Oliver Cooper chipped in a single and Tyrone Sock added three assists. Mathieu Corbeil turned aside 25 for the win between the pipes as Saint John evened its record at 3-3. Christophe Losier and Jeremie Blain replied for the Titan, which thumped Saint John 8-1 in their first meeting of the season. Robert Steeves made 22 saves in the loss as Bathurst fell to 3-3-1-0. Among the crowd of 3570 at Harbour Station to watch the game was special guest Nicholas Giroux. Giroux was honoured for his outstanding perseverance through a major injury and received a standing ovation prior to puck drop. In May of 2009, Giroux lost part of his right leg during an accident. Less than one year later, Giroux had strapped on the skates and was the starting goaltender for his hockey team this past season. His story was featured on TSN during the Kraft Celebration Tour stop in Sackville, New Brunswick, where he grew up and continues to play sports. The game also featured a food drive organized by the Bell Aliant Pioneers. Phillips made his ...

EP.133.0 SAINT JOHN SEA DOGS VS GATINEAU OLYMPIQUES - SEASON 6 - PRESIDENT CUP FINALS GAME 2

GATINEAU GETS EVEN IN PRESIDENT'S CUP FINAL The opportunistic Gatineau Olympiques weathered a 40-shot storm to hang on for a 3-2 win over the Saint John Sea Dogs in Game 2 of the President's Cup final. Hubert Labrie, Tommy Tremblay and Nicolas Deslauriers scored for Gatineau and Maxime Clermont made 38 saves as the 'Piques evened the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League final 1-1. Gatineau opened the scoring at 4:26 of the first period when Labrie's point shot hit something on the way through and deflected past DeSerres. The Dogs had a chance to equalize shortly thereafter when Zack Phillips found Jonathan Huberdeau through a crowd with a searching cross-ice pass from the left-wing corner, but Clermont reached across with the glove to grab it. The Olympiques made it 2-0 on another pinball play, with two Gatineau players partially fanning on shots in front. Tremblay got enough on his attempt to fool DeSerres at 9:42 of the first. Philip-Michael Devos then took a four-minute double-minor for high-sticking Stanislav Galiev and drawing blood. The Dogs took advantage on the ensuing power play, getting on the board by executing a perfect one-touch passing play. Nathan Beaulieu set up at the top of an umbrella formation as Despres slid to the top of the right-wing circle. Beaulieu went to Galiev at the left circle, where he immediately one-timed a cross-ice feed to Despres, who in turn one-timed it past a helpless Clermont. The goal, the third of the playoffs for Despres and second ...
