In 1969, Sears, Roebuck & Co. was the largest retailer in the world, with about 350000 employees.[citation needed] Sears executives decided to consolidate the thousands of employees in offices distributed throughout the Chicago area into one building on the western edge of Chicago's Loop. With immediate space demands of 3 million square feet (279000 m²), and predictions and plans for future growth necessitating even more space, Sears commissioned architects Skidmore, Owings and Merrill to produce a structure that was known from the onset would be one of the largest office buildings in the world.[citation needed]. Chief architect on the project was Bruce Graham, head structural engineer Fazlur Khan. The Sears Tower as viewed from The Chicago Stock Exchange and LaSalle Street Station Sears executives decided early on that the space they would immediately occupy should be efficiently designed to house the small army that was their Merchandise Group. But floor space for future growth would be rented out to smaller firms and businesses until Sears could retake it. Therefore, the floor sizes would need to be smaller, and to have a high window-space to floor-space ratio, to be attractive and marketable to these prospective lessees. Smaller floor sizes necessitated a taller structure. Skidmore architects proposed a tower which would have large 55000-square-foot (5000 m²) floors in the lower part of the building, and would gradually taper the area of the floors down in a series of ...

Experience the Ledge at the Sears Tower in Chicago, where a visitor can stand in a glass box and get a view straight down from 103 stories in the air. My complete ignorance of videography helped add an extra dizziness effect to the clip.

Investigative research suggests that a potential attack on the Willis Tower is in the works. There are several pieces of convincing evidence that support this claim. It is also suspected that the event is to occur in November (1st, 5th, 6th, or 9th) of 2011. The second part of this video set examines how secret societies have for centuries used a hidden numerical and astronomical system to predict the future and change the course of natural history; controlling the world by perpetuating specific events at specific times. 9/11 was one such event that changed the world and gave these groups more power and control. The Western world has become the imperialistic-dominating culture because secret societies have manipulated the course of history. Their secret power came from decoding the oldest text in the world, the I-Ching, that they had altered and found that it could be used to their advantage. You can see exactly how it all works on Terence McKenna's Time Wave Zero software if you adjust the settings as shown in Part 2 of the video.

The Willis Tower, formerly known as the Sears Tower and what I will refer it is as, is a great place to get an amazing view of downtown Chicago, Illinois. The Skydeck is open to the paying public and offers quite an experience for any Chicago visitor. The Skydeck is on the 103rd floor and offers a 360 degree view of the city. The Sears Tower, standing at a height of 1450 feet (110 stories), was completed in 1973 and stood as the world's tallest building for 25 years. All images were taken by me in August 2011. We visited the Sears Tower (now called Willis Tower) to check out the "ledge". Walk out the side of the building and look down through the glass. It was fun. Couple things to note. Dont bring your kids on the weekend. You will wait 2 hours to get up to the top and the lines are narrow and long. Most kids were crying or throwing a fit. If you can afford it, get the Fast Pass. I had some friends that did not get it and they wish they would have. Once I got to the ticket booth, I was at the top in 10 mins. My total wait time was 30 mins from the time I got in line that was out the door. Cost: $14.95 Fast Pass: $30

July 2, 2009: Opening day at The Ledge, a new feature of the Sears Tower in Chicago, Illinois. The Ledge is a collection of glass viewing boxes attached to the side of the world's tallest building. A full quarter-mile above the hard concrete of the city street, nothing but a layer of glass separates you from the pavement 103 stories below. No matter how much your rational mind know that there's a see-through floor beneath you, the signals from your eyes to your brain creates a chemical response that gives you the feeling that you're about to fall. It takes a while to maintain your balance, for your heart to stop pounding, and for the adrenaline-rush to subside. If you go there, I suggest you try to arrive early in the day if you plan to film, as it's location on the western side of the building leads to glare in the mid-day sun. You should also consider paying the extra fifteen bucks for a Fast Pass: VIP treatment from the staff, allowing you to cut in line and go right on up. The alternative is to wait up to two hours in line, due to the popularity of Chicago's latest tourist attraction. And don't look down lol
