HTC updated their Sense homescreen with some really cool new features. There's a new multitouch pinch feature that makes it easy to switch between Android homescreen panes. The new News Feed keeps you in touch with your news. The new FriendStream pane gives you real-time updates on your social network. And, there's a new word definition and translation service that works in any application with text.

goo.gl HTC is completely revamping their Android Sense UI to a whole new level. What started out as a merely a skin on top of Android is now turning into a whole new level of service with all of your phone's media, texts and data being backed up to their soon to be released HTCSense.com. I've always been a fan of Sense since day 1 and it was the reason I went through with rooting my G1 in the first place. I know there has always been a lot of criticisms when it comes to Sense and it definitely isn't without its naysayers. Whether you are a "Sense Hater" or not, I think HTC has been proving themselves in not only firmware updates but by continuing to enhance the user experience. Out of all other companies, I feel like HTC is listening. Now, with the addition of themes, super-quick 2 second boot time and the new HTCSense.com, I think Sense is better than ever and definitely pushing the Android OS further. In this video I'm using a port of the Desire HD ROM that was given to us from @IncredibleDoes on Twitter and XDA. Although buggy, I'm using the ROM to give people a taste of what to expect from HTC Sense in the coming months. I cannot wait until we see this official update from HTC! THIS IS INCOMPLETE! There is no audio, no bluetooth, no wifi, no data connection, no power management. This is a very early test build, this can NOT be used for everyday usage. Anyway, this is HTC Sense for Android on HTC HD2, just a demonstration of my latest version (v3.5) of the Android Sense build. This video is for those who have issues booting android builds and just want to see it in action. People have been telling me that the mario wallpaper is making things laggy, but this doesn't happen to me! I will demonstrate the fluidity of the interface and the 3D capabilites. HTC Incredible S Software Review
The HTC Incredible S uses the Sense UI interface which features seven homescreens, many beautiful widgets, and lots of other changes to built-in apps. Running Quadrant on the Incredible S, we score about a 1400, which is 200 points less than the Desire HD, even though both phones have the same hardware. Web performance is quite fantastic with smooth scrolling and panning. In terms of data speeds, the Incredible S can do about 3mbps down and 1.7mbps up on T-Mobile's 3G HSDPA network. HTC Freestyle Review
Sydney reviews the HTC Freestyle, a unique featurephone that almost looks like a smartphone. It uses HTC's Sense UI which brings a lot of cool features like the popular weather and clock widget, Friendstream, and a notification system similar to what you would see on an Android smartphone. The camera performance was disappointing, but the virtual keyboard is probably one of the best on a featurephone, and battery life wasn't that bad either. After testing it out and putting it through its paces, this is definitely the best featurephone from AT&T's current line-up. Desire S Software Review
The Desire S ships with Android Gingerbread 2.3.3, the most current version of Android to-date. In addition to this up-to-date version of the OS, the Desire S also ships with HTC Sense UI 2.1, and while not 3D, it's still got some newer widgets, and a new app or two that continue to add polish and refinement to the Sense UI. While I'm an Android "purist", the Sense UI for Android is significantly more advanced and seamless than UIs other OEMs. The main draw to Sense is HTCs use of animated and high-resolution widgets for any of up to seven homescreens. This version of Sense adds some 3D "hints" to various widgets that can be seen when swiping between homescreens if you look closely enough. The Sense interface is present in many of the preloaded apps: email, phone, contacts, calendar, FM radio, navigation, internet, camera, calculator, gallery, news, weather, settings, and more. In most cases, this means that HTC has added the "slider" interface, allowing you to switch between various types of information within an app. If you tap and hold on any of the sliders, you'll be able to add and subtract elements from it. Additionally, if you apply a skin from the Personalize menu, all apps that have been modified with the Sense UI will also change, which is quite nice should you get bored of the default HTC black and green color scheme. HTC Freestyle Unboxing
Sydney does an unboxing and gives her first impressions of the HTC Freestyle. Because it uses HTC Sense UI, it looks very similar to HTC's smartphones, but it's a featurephone. Whether this means that you get all the coolness of a smartphone without the price or that you finally have a cheap phone that you're not ashamed of, either way, it's a win-win. Aside from running Sense UI and being packed with all of its cool widgets, the Freestyle also has a 3 MP camera and a capacitive touchscreen, a pretty good one at that. After initial tests with the Freestyle's touchscreen and virtual keyboard, it's easy to say that it's one of the best on the featurephone market. The Freestyle is $99 on-contract from AT&T, which may be a little too expensive for some, but it's definitely worth looking into. Freestyle vs Laser Dogfight
The HTC Freestyle and the Pantech Laser are the two best featurephones from AT&T.
