I demonstrate how to make a quicky knife sheath from thin walled PVC pipe. It's quick to do and cheap. The pvc pipe can be easily softened for forming with a heat gun (paint stripper). Sort of a redneck Kydex thing. LOL! What size pipe do you need?....The formula for the circumference of a circle is useful in this situation: The circumference of a circle = Pi x diameter (the pipes ID) (Pi= 3.14) Then just calculate the maximum distance around the outside of the knife blade and compare it to the internal circumference dimensions of the available pipe choices. There are ID/ OD dimesions for pipe on the web. Just Google "PVC pipe dimensions" to find these web pages.

The Mora Bushcraft Triflex knife is a great knife, but like most Mora's it's lacking in the sheath department. Lately I've been reading a lot of the knife forums regarding Mora knives & all the great mods guys are doing with their blades. Kydex sheaths are definitely a great DIY option & one I had to tackle. This was my first experience using this kydex & must say that it's a very workable material. I went with .09 thickness & was pleased with the results. On this video we show the new leather sheath my good friend Mac (Colhane) made for my Mateiro knife! He taught me how to make it although my role in the making of that sheath was only working on the welt, which prevents the blade from cutting through the sewing. Mac also showed me how to improve the leather´s performance on the sheath by saturating it with melted bee wax, causing the sheath to get water proof and a away more resistent! I´ll post a tutorial video showing step-by-step how to make a leather sheath and how to treat it with bee wax! Coming soon! Stay tune!
