Under the hood is a supercharged 5.8 liter aluminum-block V8 that produces 650 hp (485 kW / 659 PS) and 600 lb-ft (813 Nm) of torque. That engine unit is coupled to an upgraded six-speed manual gearbox. For the aerodynamics, the front fascia and splitters have been modified to handle the loads required of the car's top speed of 200 mph (322 km/h). The 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 comes fitted with 19-inch wheels at the front and 20-inchers at the back wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G:2 tires. Both a Performance Package and a Track Package are on offer with the Shelby GT500. The Performance Package includes Bilstein electronically-adjusted dampers while the Track Package features an external engine-oil cooler, rear differential cooler and transmission cooler to prevent over-heating on the track.

This is the CSX 4000 which essentially is a real cobra. This car is built by Shelby American and has a Statement of Origin signed by Carroll Shelby himself. It is constructed exactly as the original with an all aluminum body, Halibrand knock-off wheels, 427 Big-block Ford, etc. This car is capable of sub 4 sec 0-60 times and quarter mile times in the 12 sec range. 2009 Cadillac CTS-V "Bone Stock" and 2011 Shelby GT500 "Bone Stock" Horsepower and Torque numbers tested. Both vehicles tested back to back in same conditions. Performed on MD - AWD -1750 (Mustang Dyno). We had some issues with the quarter mile function and elected to leave it out. You will see that the Cadillac posted higher horsepower and torque figures than the Shelby. For those who viewed our video CTS-V vs. Shelby a few weeks back you would have noticed that the Shelby held a very small lead on the CTS-V until the CTS-V driver lifted and the Shelby driver kept going. We apologize for this appearing staged. The Shelby had about a car length lead. So... Cadillac has more power and torque, Shelby has less weight. Both cars are very close in time making for a fun battle. We plan to run both cars head to head at the drag strip in the coming weeks. Stay Tuned.

I flat-out love this car. I'm a big fan of the 32-valve Cobra motors and how unbelievably smooth they are and how much power they can make. Add in a 6-speed manual, and you have a very potent acceleration curve. Combine that with what is arguably one of the best-looking Mustangs of all time-the Shelby GT500 fastback - and you end up with a take-no-prisoners supercar. The suspension and brakes have been upgraded to keep pace with the engine's prodigious output, while the interior has been left alone because there's no use in messing with a great design. Ultimately, you end up with a car that's unquestionably faster than a real GT500, handles better, stops shorter, is more comfortable to drive, gets better fuel mileage, and probably will require less maintenance. Whereas the downside to all that? If you're looking for a heart-stopping cruise missile that will draw a crowd three deep at the next cruise night, here it is. It's not cheap, but I'll also bet that it couldn't be duplicated for the asking price. This is A LOT of car for the money. Call now!
