Remember that I am not a doctor,get proper medical attention whenever possible from a licensed professional.When the SHTF happens or anytime for that matter, the prepper should have some quikclot in his/her medical bag. What do you do if you are treating multiple people with traumatic wounds and you run out of supplies? Well there just happens to be some old fashioned remedies that you can throw at these problems. Common cayenne pepper, regular black pepper and sugar will stop the patient from exsanguinating or bleeding to death as we non professionals say. There is no burning sensation with pepper or sugar like there is with alcohol.Make sure you clean the pepper out of the wound after the bleeding stops.For deep wounds you can leave the sugar in for a while if you have no gauze to pack in the opening. But just like gauze you must clean out the sugar seveal times a day to insure proper healing.Honey is good on cuts. It acts like an antibiotic. So if you run out of iodine, neosporin, hydrogen peroxide, alcohol etc. Honey will be available. Some fast food places have honey packs in there condoment section , so if you get into a real bind you can get some topical medicine for a nasty cut for free. I am not advocating stealing, I am just sharing information. Got some 5 gallon buckets from the Wal-mart bakery $1 each. Building cabinets to store my food preps. Sucess to you!

They last forever and don't drain your batteries. Paper plates and plastic forks are a great idea as well, because if your power is out, so is your dishwasher and you have enough other things to do without worrying about washing dishes.
