this is an update to my project that i am working on. It is a bunch of Crown amps powering a pair of towers. The Towers EACH will have (8) 7" Ascendant Audio Carbon mids, (4) Morel Tweeters and 1 Ascendant Audio SMD 18" woofer. Also, 2 18" Passive Radiators PER TOWER......thats what the other 2 holes are for. I know these 5 minute youtube video's make it look like this was fast and easy but the resin/fiberglass took a long time. It is worth it though just for how strong it is. The "Self Leveling Resin Corner" trick is something i came up with about 6 years ago. I could do wood, but this is stronger. You pour it in the corners, tip the box at a 45 degree angle, and then let it set up. I personally like to use fiberglass also, but you dont have to, especially if the transition is very small. The T Nuts were pretty easy to do, as usual, and is much better then a standard wood screw or even worse, a sheetrock screw LOL. tonite we put my new SMD woofers into the Tahoe. Took the old BTL's out. They are still in perfect condition after a year and a half! Time for the test drive of the new SMD's though! 6600 Watts on each one! THere are 2 Rockford Fosgate T2500.1bd amps on each woofer (one per coil) and all my amps benched between 3250 and 3400watts each (1ohm, 14.4v) . Woofers are dual .7's and i am @ 15.5vdc so you do the math -

i finally got the rest of the NEO magnets in and since i didnt get to show in the previous video just how strong they are, nor the finished product, i figured i would do that here. These are detachable in case i need to move them around easily or transport.At a towering 7' 10" tall, they will be hard to fit in smaller rooms. As stated in the video, i am still waiting on my custom 18" passive radiators (google it if ya' dont know what those are). Soon i will install them and take the towers for a real test drive. Once i am happy with how they sound i will finish the body work for good and get them painted. I am thinking smooth, glossy, piano black. Check back soon for updates!

I am waiting on the other 2 woofers to get here, in the meantime i wanted to play with the new SMD/AA Subs that are just about ready for release. My test bench has a Rockford Fosgate 200 watt amp on it running off of a XSpower D680 Battery. I just wanted to see if i could get it moving. It moves pretty good considering the woofer can handle 20x the power i am putting on it with ease. Final RMS ratings to come. If you know what i am running you know how much power will be on these and it should be insane! These subs are Dual .7 ohm -

started my project the other day when i got the mids. I ordered the tweets and the subwoofers are on their way as well. While i wait, i decided to get my power in order. I got a few things in the mail i thought you guys might like to see. I am building this for my shop as well as whatever else might come along that i can do with it. Most of all i love hooking stuff up and pro audio, rack mounted amps and eq's are fun! 2 Towers - (1) DBX Rackdrive (crossover) (1) Crown Ce2000 - (8 ) Tweeters (undecided but eyeballin' Morel DMS 30) (4 per tower) (1) Crown Ce2000 - (16) AA Carbon Midrange/midbass (8 per tower in a line array from bottom to the top) .....and PORTED (1) Crown XTi 4000 - (1) SMD 18 faced forward (Ported, possibly down firing) (1) Crown XTi 4000 - (1) SMD 18 faced forward (Ported, possibly down firing) (1) Mackie 1604 VLZ Mixing board (supposed to be rack mountable with a few factory mods) (1) undecided Rack mounted EQ and an electrician to give me a few outlets with more juice.....probably 3 30a circuits this is for FUN, and its for my shop. I have a few people that want to come and do a live u-stream show and with this mixer i should be able to put out CLEAN sound directly into the computer (line-in) so its no distortion!! One day I installed ther wrong bios version on my laptop so I decided to replace it because it couldn't be flashed and this is How I repaired the bios chip on my Acer laptop. when bios fails on laptops they can't be reset. look for my other repairs, like that video when I replaced the video chip on my hp laptop lol
