I BELIEVE IN ANGELS - RIVER PHEONIX.wmv

"It was wrong to do this," said the angel. "You should live like a flower, Holding malice like a puppy, Waging war like a lambkin." "Not so," quoth the man Who had no fear of spirits; "It is only wrong for angels Who can live like the flowers, Holding malice like the puppies, Waging war like the lambkins."

Lady Anne (Richard III) monologue

When he that is my husband now Came to me, as I follow'd Henry's corse, When scarce the blood was well wash'd from his hands Which issued from my other angel husband And that dead saint which then I weeping follow'd; O, when, I say, I look'd on Richard's face, This was my wish: 'Be thou,' quoth I, ' accursed, For making me, so young, so old a widow! And, when thou wed'st, let sorrow haunt thy bed; And be thy wife--if any be so mad-- As miserable by the life of thee As thou hast made me by my dear lord's death! Lo, ere I can repeat this curse again, Even in so short a space, my woman's heart Grossly grew captive to his honey words And proved the subject of my own soul's curse, Which ever since hath kept my eyes from rest; For never yet one hour in his bed Have I enjoy'd the golden dew of sleep, But have been waked by his timorous dreams. Besides, he hates me for my father Warwick; And will, no doubt, shortly be rid of me.

The Raven

I made this one at school, so that's my excuse for the lazy drawing and the fact that, like Guild Wars Boneheads, it has five frames per second. If you have read the poem, you're probably going to say that I interpreted it wrong. Well, it's not my fault, I'm only five. No, four, actually. Or was it three? Anyway, this is a movie based on the horror poem "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe, starring the most imaginative character in the world: The Legendary Stick Man. Please don't expect to be impressed, but it was fun to make. In case you were wondering how I got away with slamming a fist against the table and making a big noise, I added the sound when I got home. Thinking about it, I might as well share the poem itself with you for those of you who haven't read it. Even though making this move will make the extreme simplification in the movie even more obvious... Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore, While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. `'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door - Only this, and nothing more.' Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December, And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor. Eagerly I wished the morrow; - vainly I had sought to borrow From my books surcease of sorrow - sorrow for the lost Lenore - For the rare and radiant maiden whom the ...

A Bristolian Nativity

Nativity The biting frost didst pluck at them, The ass buckled with heavy load, They wandered down that winding road That took them down to Bethlehem. A weary Jo was blessed with child And Benjamin did think it odd For it was not his bairn, but God's -- A fabled son and infant mild. They didst attend some counselling And Ben didst cry 'thou rotten cheat' But then one day the lad did meet Some angels, joyously they'd sing. From this good host one noble came Adorned in riches most divine For which all earthly men would pine The Angel Blakiel his name. The angel spake then, soft and low 'This child she bears is of the Lord Man up; at me you canst afford To bitch'. This was to him a bitter blow. But still he swore to keep her safe From then his counsel he would keep Though he, out-manned, did feel to weep He swore that day he'd keep her safe And give his love unto this boy Who was called Christ, anointed one, So all his hopes of sex were gone, But he'd find more than earthly joy. That night in Bethlehem they found No inn for rest, no bed to lie And softly they began to cry And lay then on the icy ground Till one door o'ped, a buxom wench Answered. She said 'ye canst stay here' But then an odd man didst appear And made himself to seem a mensch. 'You have a place, though it seems bare In our manger you can find rest Although you'll find it not the best If I get paid, I hardly care'. And so quoth he, that lanky Jew -- Will was his name, Heidi his wife They lived a full and happy ...

The Raven set to music

Yes, I know, but it had to be done. Edgar Alan Poe's poem, the Raven, narrated by Vincent Price (altered his voice a bit) and set to "Kodo - Kevin Youst's Deep & Ethnic Remix". I've skipped some of the verses as it was getting too long. Here's the full version: Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore, While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. "'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door- Only this, and nothing more." Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December, And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor. Eagerly I wished the morrow;- vainly I had sought to borrow From my books surcease of sorrow- sorrow for the lost Lenore- For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore- Nameless here for evermore. And the silken sad uncertain rustling of each purple curtain Thrilled me- filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before; So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating, "'Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door- Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door;- This it is, and nothing more." Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer, "Sir," said I, "or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore; But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping, And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at ...

Polish Christmas Songs: Mazowsze - Anioł pasterzom mówił (English lyrics)

Mazowsze - Anioł pasterzom mówił (An Angel Told the Shepherds) "Anioł pasterzom mówił" is the oldest Polish carol. The lyrics come from 16th century and are the translation of a part of the Latin Middle-Age song for Christmas, "Dies est laetitiae (Angelus pastoribus)". This carol was sung by - for example - Boys and Krzysztof Krawczyk. This version is sung by Mazowsze, Polish folk group named after the Mazowsze region of Poland.

Kennelmus - The Raven

Kennelmus briefly rose from the mists of the Arizona desert; a strange musical mirage combining psych rock with surf and whatever else that the folks in this band wanted to blend in. They only released one album... "Folkstone Prism". 1971. The lyrics are derived from a 1845 Edgar Allen Poe - Poem, "The Raven". Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore, While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. `'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door - Only this, and nothing more.'
