The SLO is running on Groove Tube KT66 power tubes and has a combination of JJ and Sovtek preamp tubes. The Peavey is running on the stock Ruby 6L6 power tubes and a mix of various preamp tubes (EH, Tung-Sol RI, RFT, Ei.) As usual, both amps sound killer. LOL...

This is a comparison between my three amps. They all have slightly different characers so I thought it would be interesting to compare them through the same speaker. The amps are a Soldano Hot rod 100+, a Mesa Boogie Dual rectifier 2-channel rev F and an Egnater Mod50. They are all played through a Mesa 4x12 oversized recto cab. Guitar is a Suhr S3. First the cam is placed a few meters back to get the sound in the room. The camera wasn't really capable of handeling the volume although the amps were played a lot lower than stage volume. You can actually hear me hitting the strings in the backround. In the end I tried to capture the sound closer to the speakers. Doing this I really had to turn the volume down so unfortunately tha amps aren't singing as much. I feel you can hear the differences quite well though they sound kind of similar. The Soldano has a really cutting high mid and fast attack while the Egnater is smoother and creamier and the Mesa has thay fat low mid bark they are famous for. Hope you enjoy it!

Just got this brand new Soldano SLO and have been running it through the paces the past few days. This SLO has a 2007 serial number and no mods. My R8 has a Rio Grande BBQ pickup in the bridge. I'm also using reverb from a Rocktron Intellifex LTD and a Bogner 2x12" cab with WGS ET-65 speakers.

Hopefully this will give you SOME idea of the differences between these fantastic amps. In general, I think the Einstein is a little more "refined" sounding than the SLO. That's not to say the SLO is all "raw" or anything either. It has it's own "refined' thing going if you dial it in that way. They're just different. My camera isn't the best at showing the differences, but it's the only way I can share videos right now. Also, this camera makes the tone a little darker than what I hear in the room, but it's close enough. NOTE - I'm trying to show the tones in these amps by playing different stuff. I'm not trying to show my fretboard wizardry like alot of folks that put videos up on YouTube (it's a good thing too, because I'd fall flat on my face anyway! lol)

1992 Soldano HR 50 with Soldano 4x12 cab. Cab has British-made Celestion Vintage 30s. Has about 12 - 16 hours on the JJ 6L6's & 12AX7's. Amp was biased a bit hotter for a little more bottom end & gain. This amp is no show piece... it has been used for what it was intended for! It's been in studios, theaters, & smoky-ass bars. I perform general maintenance once every three months, including cleaning & checking out all solder points, etc. I have NEVER had to hit a solder point & this amp has never failed me. Not once! This is by far the best amp I have ever owned, period. The only reason I'm selling it is to fund the purchase of a Soldano SLO. I absolutely hate to get rid of this, but I can't afford the SLO oughtright. Barring any shipping incident, I guarantee this amp will be in perfect working order for whoever buys it. If you have any further questions, just send me a message. I've sold things via YouTube before & had better luck than EBay because we get to dictate our own terms! This is a stock Soldano SLO with Groove Tube KT66C power tubes through a THD HotPlate and a 2x12" open-back cab. The cab is loaded with two Weber Blue Dog speakers - both are 30-watt and one is the alnico version and the other is the ceramic version. I'm also using that little Egnater cab that's loaded with an Egnater speaker. There's a Rocktron Intellifex LTD in the loop. I'm playing a Fender "RoadWorn" '50s Strat with the stock "Tex-Mex" single coil pickups.

This is a little comparison video I did a year ago before I sold my CAA OD100. Both are played through a Mesa recto cab. Guitar is a Scecter 7-string 007 Elite. OD100 has a Boss SD-1 in front to tighten up the low end. Without it it's very loose and without edge. The x88 are played through a VHT 2150 poweramp and the SD-1 is used on and off. But I'm not sure when. You can see me turn it off towards the end. I'm not sure if you can hear the difference. In the room it was drastic. And finally... excuse my wanking.

Just testing out the HR50+ Straight into amp no external effects, i took the XL mod out myself amp made in 2004, Clean Channel pre is set at 8, OD channell pre is set at 4,, bass-6 mids-6 treb-3 clean and overdrive volumes between 6-7 presence at 3, I start the whole thing in clean neck position switch to clean bridge then do it again for the OD channel you can see when i switch channels in the video. The Cabinet is a Marshall 1936 with 2 Celestion G12H 30 greenbacks still in the break in process.
