UPDATE 25 April 2012: Because many people ask, Gracie is doing well these days. She is getting ready to turn nine and moves a lot slower, but she is still a good dog and a great friend. I'm uploading this for family. This was the day I came back from Kandahar in Sept. 2005. Life has changed since then. But Gracie is still a good dog. UPDATE: (11-13-2009) - This is crazy. I posted this years ago along with three other clips of my wife in Haiti for my parents to see (Jen does medical missions in Haiti and runs a clinic in Cap Haitien). They still have like 400 hits a piece. This clip had like 30000 hits two days ago. I'm not quite sure where this attention is all coming from. [EDIT: It appears to have started at Mentalfloss.com] Oh, and it was filmed by my wife Jen in our front yard in Springfield, VA.. Gracie is six now. She's asleep at my feet as I'm typing this. Fallen Soldier escorted and flown home to FLA on American Airlines. Honorably greeted by Army personnel, local police, family, and fire department - who showed their respect by showering the plane with 4 powerful streams of water from fire trucks on both sides. Today was a very humbling day for me. I spent the day in small town USA to await the arrival of A Company 2-130 IN coming home from Afghanistan. We were there to greet my wife's nephew. But we were greeted by so much more than words can say. From the moment we started to get close to this town (West Frankfort, IL.) I could tell that this would be a very emotional experience. It all started out on the highway with flags on the overpasses. When we drove down this towns main street I was touched to say the least. Business after business had welcome home Soldiers in their windows, on their signs to the likes I have never seen before. This whole town knew just what was going to happen this day and they were all proud. Excited Moms, Dads, Wifes, Girlfriends, Brothers, Sisters, Children, Families, and people who didn't even have anyone coming home were all there and the looks on their faces was so special that it's hard to discribe. As they got closer to home people just could not seem to stand still. People from resturants would call and say they just pass by here. Then in the distance you could see the lights and here the sirens letting everyone know that here we come. The whole town seemed buzz at this point. It was like being at a baseball game when they do the wave. As their buses moved down the street towards us you could her the cheers getting loader as they got closer. Unbelievable !!! They finally made their way into the local high school gym to cheers like you have <b>...</b>

PLEASE HELP!!!! AMERICA FELL IN LOVE WITH THESE DOGS ON TV, NOW FALL IN LOVE WITH THEM IN YOUR HOME!!!! I have two beagle adults, Gotti and Lola, that are 5 years old. They are my babies, I love them to death and they cannot be separated (they have been together since they were puppies) but I cannot keep them due to personal problems. I can't bear to take them to a shelter and I just want to make sure they go to a good home. They are both potty and kennel trained, walk on a single lease with a split end and love to roam (the more farm, the better). If you can find it in your heart to take my babies in and care for them, I would forever be grateful. They are both spayed and neutered, microchipped, and up to date on their shots. I have all of their papers since I got them as puppies. They both love to chase squirrels and be outdoors (like most beagles) but needs more attention then I can offer them and I'm doing this in their best interest. The video only recently became a YouTube sensation after it was included in a Veterans Day video montage. In the home video, then-Lieutenant Andrew Schmidt of the West Virginia Air National Guard, dressed in fatigues, is coming back from a five-month tour in Afghanistan. But he can't get past the sidewalk in front of his Springfield, Virginia house before Gracie, then a two-year-old golden retriever, bolts forth from the front door. Earlier this week, Andrew Schmidt told The Today Show, "We're really close. You know, dogs get to be like your kids.
