These guys from France are really brilliant. Check out their site. The best, what the Sp1200 ever could happen. hxc2001.free.fr What you see in the video is not finished. I won´t leave my SP open as in the video of course. I just did the wiring to check, if it works. When finished, the Emulator will be located on top of the Floppydrive inside (like in the video). The display will be built above the original display with extra buttons to control the Emulatordrive. I built this floppydrive emulator into the SP1200 beside my original floppy drive. To use both drives, I built in a switch to change their adresses. That way, you can load up a disk from your original drive into the SP. As soon it´s loaded, you can switch to the HxC Floppy Emulator and save your files to a prepared SP 1200 Floppydisk Imagefile. I the video you can see the loading from the Floppydisk and then the saving to the Emulator. In the end I switch the SP off and on and load up the files from the Emulator. You can use normal SD Cards to save your files. The diskimages must be created on a computer before. Via software, or by coping an excisting disk image. As I know, this is the only way, to get your SP1200 library saved secure to a common medium. After converting all your SP library to a small SD card (you can use up to 16GB cards) , you can lock away your Floppydisksboxes forever. Of course, you can make backups on your computer, so they are extrasave. Forget your old "hard to get" Double Density ...
