The film stars Henry Fonda cast against type as the villain Frank, Charles Bronson as his nemesis "Harmonica", Jason Robards as the bandit Cheyenne and Claudia Cardinale as Jill, a newly-widowed homesteader with a past as a prostitute. After making his American Civil War epic The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Leone had intended to retire from making Westerns, believing he had said all he wanted to say. He had come across the novel The Hoods by the pseudonymous 'Harry Grey', an autobiographical book based on the author's own experiences as a Jewish hood during Prohibition, and planned to adapt it into a film (this would eventually, seventeen years later, become his final film, Once Upon a Time in America). Leone though was offered only Westerns by the Hollywood studios. United Artists (who had produced the Dollars Trilogy) offered him the opportunity to make a film starring Charlton Heston, Kirk Douglas and Rock Hudson, but Leone refused. However, when Paramount offered Leone a generous budget along with access to Henry Fonda, his favorite actor with whom he had wanted to work for virtually all of his career, Leone accepted the offer. Once Upon a Time in the West (1968), is a Euro/Spaghetti Western directed by Sergio Leone. The story focuses on brutish gunfighter Frank (Henry Fonda), who dreams of becoming a tycoon, but is still prepared to resort to trusted methods to drive widow Jill McBain (Claudia Cardinale) off the land coveted by a ruthless railroad company. However, Frank must also deal with a mysterious harmonica player (Charles Bronson), as well as sympathetic outlaw Cheyenne (Jason Robards), if he is to achieve his goal. Bernardo Bertolucci wrote a script for Leones magnificent attempt to make the definitive western (I had no lire and I thought Leone was brilliant and vulgar), borrowing from every western the future director knew. References include; High Noon, Johnny Guitar, Shane, The Searchers and The Iron Horse. The stereotypes include Henry Fonda cast radically against type as a blue-eyed sadistic killer, Charles Bronson as the avenger with no name who wears a musical instrumental around his neck, Jason Robards as a romantic bandit, and Claudia Cardinale as a dance-hall girl. The film features leitmotifs that relate to each of the main characters (each with their own unique theme music) as well as to the spirit of the American West. This is the second music video I made, back in 1990. It was shot in 16mm at Collins Collision in Detroit, Michigan, and at McClouth Steel. The Gories were my favorite current band at the time, and I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw them for the first time playing live to about 5 people in a bar in Dearborn, Michigan. They were great for their dynamic performance, and for their unique, original songs, as well as their great choice of covers. I was instrumental in helping Alex Chilton in his efforts to produce their 2nd album, of which this video was for. Mick Collins had already agreed to personify the west-African spirit, Ogun, for my future feature length effort, Wayne County Ramblin', now completed and available at our website; www.waynecountyramblin.com The Gories were supposed to have a live performance in Wayne County Ramblin', but they had broken up long before we began filming. They nearly reunited for a scene, though, for their rendition of 'Ghostrider', with Lorette Velvette substituting for Dan Kroha, who wanted to do it, but had a scheduling conflict that couldn't permit him to be at Wild Bill's when that day came upon us.

The music video for "Miracle Of The Human Spirit" includes archival film footage shot by FEMA within hours of the EF-5 tornado that devastated Joplin, MO, on May 22, 2011, along with news coverage of the disaster provided by local ABC affiliate KODE-TV 12, and archival photos from several local photographers. Intertwined into this document of the event, members of Joplin-based Country band LiveWire are shown performing the song in the ruins of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Joplin, near St. John's Hospital in one the most-devastated areas of the city. They were joined on vocals by special guests, the College Heights Christian Church choir, under the direction of Lynn Conover. The video closes with a call to action for individuals to donate to help with the city's rebuilding efforts. The single for "Miracle Of The Human Spirit" by LiveWire was made available for sale at iTunes on 11/22/11, the six-month anniversary of the tragedy. Mukmuk, the mascot sidekick, is considered an honourary member of the team and enjoys surprising his friends by popping up on occasion to share in the spirit and fun of the Games. Mukmuk gets his name from the word muckamuck, Chinook jargon for food, because he loves to eat when he's not playing with his mascot friends.

Filmed in 2009, this short documentary truly captures the spirit and dedication of the Pacific Pinball Museum - www.pacificpinball.org To most who remember it, Pinball is considered a dusty relic of a bygone era. The only places you'll find Pinball machines today are home game rooms of private collectors or dark corners of seedy bars. As far as the general public is concerned, it has all but faded into obscurity. However, one group of dedicated men and women have decided to right the ship and save Pinball from extinction. Their goal is to preserve Pinball for what it really is: a national treasure of pure American engineering, art, and design. The Pacific Pinball Museum was founded in the late 90's by Michael Schiess, a multi-disciplined artist and an avid fan of museums. Over the years Mike has grown the non-profit organization into 13 board members and an army of dedicated volunteers, as well as amassing and restoring a staggering collection of Pinball machines. Every fall since 2007, the PPM gathers over 400 of their restored and fully playable Pinball machines to host the annual Pacific Pinball Exposition in San Rafael, CA.
