These series of videos were made to show that the arcade game "Splatterhouse" (copyright 1988 Namco/Namcot) can be completed using one single, solitary credit. It is also a guide of sorts for those having trouble with the said game. This answers the question: "Is the US arcade any different from the JAP arcade?" Evidently, no. The only noticable difference is that the JAP version carries with it a disclaimer as the machine boots up. Nothing is censored, unlike the Turbogfx-16 or LCD handheld ports are. The FM Towns Marty version was by far the best console conversion, according to reviewers. ---STAGE1--- Rick Taylor and Jennifer Wills, researching the parapsychologist, Dr. West, enter West mansion as they seek shelter from the rain. Rick is supposedly killed, Jennifer abducted by mysterious creatures. Rick awakens, bearing an ancient sacrificial mask, the Terror/Hell mask. Familiar with the mask, Rick succumbs to its powers and searches for his abducted partner. The playthrough is my own, recorded with HyperCam 2, Edited with Cyberlink PowerDirector, alongside Windows Movie Maker.

It came out in Japan under the name "Splatterhouse Part 3" and then in America as "Splatterhouse 3", I like the latter better personally. This is the introduction: After saving Jennifer at west mansion, Rick settles down and starts a family. They live in a mansion(Who knows how they can afford it) with their young boy David when one day, the terror mask comes back to Rick in a dream, it's back, its all back. The house has been taken over by monsters and ghosts, every room twisted into a bloody shadow of it's past self. Rick must don the Terror mask again to save Jennifer and David!

Jennifer is on this floor. He must race againts the clock to get to her before its too late!
A nice, easy level to ease myself back into the game. I find it more efficient to directly head to the boss, so that is the COA that I will be setting here. Also, if you are wondering why I am playing eratically for the first handful of rooms, I was trying to remember how to do the roundhouse. I must admit, I laughed a bit over the way I squashed the boss. He didn't even see it coming.

Upon taking a "field trip" to the mansion of the a well known Dr. West you are attacked on the way and rendered unconscious. You awaken with a mysterious mask on your face and Jenifer is nowhere to be found. Fight your way through the Splatterhouse to save Jenifer!! Although much easier than the arcade I still died a few places.. theres a harder difficulty code on the PCE/turbo grafx-16. Somewhere in this I had to pause for split second cause a mosquito flew up close to my face!! Happy Halloween.

If your first thought is 'Splatterhouse on Nintendo? What sorcery is this?!' I don't blame you at all. It was only released in Japan and only loosely resembles Splatterhouse at best. It's not too bad though. Join me for a three part play of this odd little game. Notable bits: "Wise fwom your gwave!", Disco Dracula, "Be Garbage of Cesspool", and Larval Candy. Errors: Called the chairs in the first boss room lanterns, because I seriously thought that's what they were.
