"I tell you, it looks like Jesus to me," said Xkot Toxsik. Sure enough, the image is right in the middle of a bucket of ice cream at Hatch Family Chocolates. Toxsik says why not? His image has shown up other places. "Potato chips, and brickwork, and all kinds of things," he said. "But whoever thought ice cream? It's amazing!" He calls it a miracle. More like a dilemma of whether to eat "Spumoni Jesus," says co-owner Steve Hatch. There are still the skeptics, like Chase Pinkham. "It just kind of looked like ice cream to me. I don't know," he said. The Hatches haven't decided what to name their new flavor -- perhaps "sacri-licious?"

Noreen's Kitchen: How to Make Spumoni Chunk Cookies
www.noreenskitchen.com Greetings! Christmas is just a few weeks away and it's time to get ready for cookies and candies and other treats. It is never too early to start thinking about what we are going to make to enjoy and give away. Making things a little at a time can save you time in the long run and save you stress and strain on your mind and your body. Remember, like I always say, the holidays should be happy, not horrible! These cookies start with a commercial sugar cookie mix. If you prefer not to use a mix, go ahead and adapt your favorite sugar cookie recipe for this cookie. I really feel like we should give ourselves permission to use mixes for cakes and cookies and adapt them for our own homemade goodies because it helps save time and energy! If you are using a bulk cookie mix, you should use 3 cups. Add 1 stick of butter, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon almond extract, 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract and mix the dough up well. Incorporate 1 cup each semi sweet chocolate chips, slivered almonds or chopped pistachios and chopped dried or glacee cherries and mix well. Drop dough by tablespoonsful on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven and transfer cookies to a rack to cool. This recipe makes 2 dozen cookies. Give a dozen of these cookies with some of the Chocolate Covered Cherry Hot cocoa Mix for a gift your friends and neighbors will not soon forget! I hope you try this and I hope you enjoy it. L&B Spumoni Gardens Was Just OK - Don't Hate Me
i know it is an institution, a landmark, a cultural haven and a top 5 A-lister every year. but i thought it was just OK. can i start with the pepperoni? could have come from pizza hut....i expected better coming from gravesend. the sauce was good - really - the cheese? it was there. looking for more flavor - looking for more something in that square slice. garlic? salt? there was a lotta love - i felt - i saw it - i was a part of it. seeing kids coming in from baseball games, families for a saturday night dinner, locals grabbing a slice on their way wherever. i liked that. just wish the pizza made me smile as much as the atmosphere.
