My trip to the Berkshire Botanical Garden in Stockbridge, Massachusetts on May 22, 2011. The price of admission for an adult was $12. That's pretty cheap if you are a photographer looking for some great scenery to photograph. Check out the photos in my video and let me know how you think they came out. If you look carefully, you might see a few bees and even an ant. I used a Nikon DX 3000 and switched on and off between an 18-55mm zoom lens with no lens hood, and a 55-200mm zoom lens with a lens hood. The weather was overcast which made for soft overall lighting. I would like to go back at a different time of year to capture other seasonal varieties. I captured all the flowers that were in bloom on May 22, 2011.

Right after Labor Day, good friends and I wanted to get together. We picked the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge. It was a convenient location -- halfway between where we all live -- and had something of interest to everyone. For Anne Bailey, a retired school teacher and talented watercolor artist, Rockwell's illustrations and paintings were a source of inspiration and new ideas. For her husband, Jim, active in Plattsburgh, NY, historical groups and museums, there was a wealth of information in the exhibits and videos. It all combines to create a nostalgic and thoughtful visual journey through 20th century America. Fall is a wonderful time to visit the Berkshires, with the colorful and changing foliage, seasonable temperatures and lighter crowds (except during peak foliage.) The Rockwell Museum always has interesting exhibits. It is located in a beautiful setting with picnic tables and walking paths overlooking the Berkshires. The museum has the world's largest original collection of Norman Rockwell's work. You can see ''The Art of Norman Rockwell'' before it heads out on a traveling exhibit in November. There are more than 70 original works, from every decade of his career, including rarely seen paintings from public and private collections. There is a very different ideal shown in the exhibit of illustrator Al Parker' stylish edgy compositions from women's magazines between 1940-1960. This runs through Oct. 28. "The Housatonic at Stockbridge," is dedicated to the memory of Odessa Nelson of Sequim, WA. This arrangement of the third movement of the orchestral work Three Places in New England, contains a borrowed text from Robert Underwood Johnson. The song exemplifies Ives's genius for translating visual concepts into musical terms. It was suggested by Harmony, his wife, during a Sunday afternoon walk that the couple shared in the summer after they were married. Sights and sounds of the meadows, the distant bells, and singing from the church across the river... the mist had not entirely left the river bed, and the colors, the running water, the banks, and elm trees were something that [they] would always remember...Two hymn-tunes are quoted -- "Missionary Chant" and "Dorrnance." Notice the emulation of the river in the piano accompaniment. You can almost feel the "water" as it represent the passing of time. The songs tension continues to build as the music, which like the river, moves inexorably toward the song's climax. In 2005, Jay asked pianist - and vocal music ed. major - Odessa Nelson to assist Mary Beth Wicks in accompanying Brett Hyberger on this difficult piece in the concert. She quickly responded without having seen the music, "Absolutely!" Odessa had a heart for helping others and had plans upon graduating to continue that spirit of giving by teaching music to less fortunate children in other countries. Unfortunately, her life was to be cut short just a little over one <b>...</b>

On my new location (Stockbridge,GA), a random storm appears out of no where and the sky starts to get dark. Around 6 PM On Saturday, June 18, 2011, I go up to the third floor of the hotel to record this severe storm. It does not take long before it came to Stockbridge. The inflow winds at 0:49, were 50 mph, knocking down a mirror outside and pushing stuff around. A few minutes later the rain starts to come in gently with winds not even 15 mph. 2 minutes later and the winds start to pick up to 45 mph and then 65 mph, where this huge lightning strike strikes the parking lot and I run to take shelter.
