The Black Keys son un dúo de blues-rock formado por Dan Auerbach y Patrick Carney en la ciudad estadounidense de Akron, Ohio. Uno de sus rasgos característicos es su preferencia por las técnicas de grabación de baja fidelidad, tales como el uso de grabadoras de cinta y efectos analógicos. La banda misma realiza la mayoría de la grabación, producción y mezcla de sus trabajos. Una gran parte del álbum Thickfreakness fue grabado en tan solo 14 horas en el sótano de Carney en una grabadora de ocho pistas Tascam 388 de los 80s. Un doble significado también puede interpretarse como el hecho de que las teclas negras (black keys) de un piano comprenden una escala pentatónica menor empezando en mi bemol mayor, que se asocia frecuentemente con el blues y el rock. El grupo editó su primer álbum The Big Come Up en el 2002, seguido por Thickfreakness en 2003 y Rubber Factory en 2004. Robin Of Sherwood - Strange Land (Extended Version)
My first new RoS video for 2years!How time flies! This time set to the haunting Clannad track, Strange Land from the Legend album. It's taken a while to get back into video editing and go through all the footage of the Michael Praed episodes (sometimes frame by frame !). Strange Land is another atmospheric track, with ominous drum beats (like a heartbeat), followed by the dramatic and sudden introduction - usually punctuating a dramatic scene or change of scene. It was a great marriage of music and images that made RoS have such a mystical atmosphere. I wanted Strange Land to show that Robin lived in strange times. There wasn't just the Sheriff & Gisburne to contend with, but also a host of other "strange" characters. Such as Templar knights, the Hounds of Lucifer (led by Morgwyn of Ravenscar), Baron De Belleme, King's - Richard and John to mention and showcase a few. A battle of good against eveil or "light & darkness" I hope this extended version of Strange Land is in keeping with the feel of the show and RoS fans enjoy it. Other videos are to follow. The episode shows Attenborough searching for the identities of preserved creatures inside a piece of Baltic Amber that was given to him by his adoptive sister when he was twelve years old. The Amber Time Machine is part of the Attenborough in Paradise and Other Personal Voyages a collection of seven documentaries. It shows how a group of scientists can reconstruct an entire twenty million year old ecosystem through pieces of Dominican amber. Examples include a tadpole preserved in Amber after falling from a Bromeliad. Attenborough then discusses the scientific feasibility of DNA being preserved in Amber, and the science behind the 1993 hit techno thriller Jurassic Park, in which Richard Attenborough starred as John Hammond. Several attempts were tried, with DNA eventually being recovered from a weevil that was several million years older than Tyrannosaurus rex. Bach's Neverending Canon
Canon a 2 per Tonus, from Bach's "Musical Offering." The top voice plays a version of the tune given to Bach by Frederick the Great. The other two voices are in 2-part canon, with the bottom voice leading and the middle voice following a measure later and a fifth above. The canon is designed so that it modulates up a whole step each time through; thus, after six times through, the music returns to C Minor where it began, but an octave higher. This recording, inspired by a suggestion in Douglas Hofstadter's "Gödel, Escher, Bach," uses the Shepard Tone technique, meaning that a lower octave is constantly being faded in for each voice while the upper octaves slowly fade. Thus, by the time C Minor is reached again, the lower octave has taken over; so we're back exactly where we started. The bottom part (leader) is recorded on the left channel, and the middle part (follower) is recorded on the right channel to make it easier to follow. This equals 1 rep of the shuffle, repeat the whole thing 10 times for this set. CLOSE GRIP PUSHUPS - 10 REPS: LIke a regular pushup, but put your hands about 6 inches apart. Focus on contracting your triceps during the exercise, and keeping your body in a straight plank to maximize the resistance. Do both exercises 4 times to complete the whole exercise. We just demonstrated one round, but if you want to really get maximum calorie burning out of this do all four. I designed this workout to be INTENSE and to burn calories as fast as possible. If you're crunched for time but you still want to get a good fat loss workout in, try this one out! And don't worry if it's hard to start with...it's supposed to be! 1985) For most of the 80's Oingo Boingo was to LA and Orange County what the Grateful Dead was to San Francisco. Oingo Boingo developed the kind of fan following that made every appearance an event. They were "our band", and we believed they knew and appreciated our enthusiasm. If you must compare them to any other groups, I think Madness would come close; Not so much for musical styling as for their composition. Both groups were mini-orchestras, and to see them on stage was to behold brilliant chaos. Musically, they were one of a kind. Sonically bright and cheerful, lyrically questioning and slightly morbid, they were at the forefront of what became known as New Wave. To those who are not familiar with their songs, they can be intimidating and strange (think Sparks, if you're familiar with them). Their most accessible songs are Dead Man's Party, Weird Science and I Love Little Girls: listen to these a couple of times and the rest of their catalog will come easier. SoCal remembers our house band, and we miss them very, very much.

From an original CD: JUPITER NASA-VOYAGER SPACE SOUNDS (1990) BRAIN/MIND Research Fascinating recording of Jupiter sounds (electromagnetic "voices") by NASA-Voyager. The complex interactions of charged electromagnetic particles from the solar wind , planetary magnetosphere etc. create vibration "soundscapes". It sounds very interesting, even scary. Jupiter is mostly composed of hydrogen and helium. The entire planet is made of gas, with no solid surface under the atmosphere. The pressures and temperatures deep in Jupiter are so high that gases form a gradual transition into liquids which are gradually compressed into a metallic "plasma" in which the molecules have been stripped of their outer electrons. The winds of Jupiter are a thousand metres per second relative to the rotating interior. Jupiter's magnetic field is four thousand times stronger than Earth's, and is tipped by 11° degrees of axis spin. This causes the magnetic field to wobble, which has a profound effect on trapped electronically charged particles. This plasma of charged particles is accelerated beyond the magnetosphere of Jupiter to speeds of tens of thousands of kilometres per second. Kevin Haney created this Glenn Strange Frankenstein Monster prosthetic likeness makeup in 1999 for the original Jack Pierce tribute which was never staged. As such, this makeup was only applied one time, with assistance by Kenny Myers and Bill Corso. Eventually, Haney created a Boris Karloff Monster makeup that was used several times for tributes to Pierce and Frankenstein (1931). DVD now available on Amazon.com.
