Dolly Dagger (Suad Hosny)
The song is Jimi Hendrix's "Dolly Dagger". Since I always imagined Dolly Dagger as this seductress in red, it was only natural to use Soad Hosny's unforgettable and controversial performance in the classic Egyptian movie "Bi'r Al Hirman" ( "Insatiable" ). Released in 1969, the movie revolves around a young woman who has Multiple Personality Disorder. One personality is the shy, good-girl-next-door protagonist. The other is a wild, uninhibited temptress. This video, of course, focuses on the latter. Dolly Dagger personified. For non-Arabs: Soad Hosny (1943-2001) was one of the most influential actresses and beauty icons of Egyptian cinema.

Choreographers: Ahmad Sharir Ali (aka ASH ALI) is a proud alumni member of NUS Dance Blast! and is a renowned local choreographer who has conducted master classes in USA, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore. Having choreographed many championship items, he travels consistently to improve on his dance foundation, technique and vocabulary. Nash Tan Wei Long began dancing when he joined Blast!. Suad Amiry is a Palestinian architect. She grew up in Amman, Damascus, Beirut, and Cairo as a result of her parents leaving Jaffa as refugees in 1948. She is the author of "Sharon and my Mother--in-Law: Ramallah Diaries" translated into 11 langages, about life under Israeli occupation describing her experience particularly during the 10-month siege of Ramallah in 2002. For it, she was awarded the prestigious Viareggio Prize in Italy in 2004. Suad is the founder and director of RIWAQ: the Center for Architectural Conservation, a non--profit organization dedicated to preserving and restoring Palestinian buildings, which received the Aga Khan prize for Architectural Restoration. She participated in the 1991-1993 Israeli--Palestinian peace negotiations in Washington, DC, and later served as assistant deputy minister and director general of the Ministry of Culture in Palestine. سعاد العامري معمارية فلسطينية هجر والداها من يافا عام 1948 . عاشت في كل من دمشق، وعمان، وبيروت والقاهرة. هي مؤلفة كتاب "شارون وحماتي: يوميات رام الله" (لندن: غرانتا 2005) الذي تصف فيه تجربتها في العيش في الضفة الغربية تحت الإحتلال الإسرائيلي منذ أوائل الثمانينات، مركزة على حصار رام الله الشهير الذي دام عشرة أشهر في العام 2002 . ترجم الكتاب الى إحدى عشرة لغة، وحاز على جائزة فياريجيو الشهيرة في إيطاليا، ووصل إلى قائمة الكتب الأكثر مبيعاً في فرنسا. درست سعاد الهندسة المعمارية في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت، وفي جامعة ميشيغان في الولايات المتحدة وفي جامعة إدينبرا في أسكتلندا. وانتقلت إلى رام الله عام 1981 <b>...</b>
