Monty Python - Summarize Proust Competition Uncensored

All the videos of this sketch that I've seen here are the censored version, so I figured I'd upload this. It's from one of my old Python videos that I taped from PBS. For those that don't know, the line "Strangling animals, golf, and masturbating" was censored by the BBC when this episode first aired. Then for the first Flying Circus DVD release, it was not only censored, but the scene was actually re-cut to only say "Golf and strangling animals". This video has the original, unedited line intact. I don't own Monty Python. www.amazon.com

Steven Pinker - The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence Has Declined

October 12, 2011 at the Linda Hall Library. Steven Pinker is the Harvard College Professor and Johnstone Family Professor of Psychology at Harvard University. Drawing from psychology, history, brain science, war studies, game theory, complexity theory, and popular culture, Dr. Pinker explores where violence comes from, why it has been so common over the course of history, and how we have been slowly bringing it under control.

Five Students Summarize the story of "The Little Mermaid"

In an attempt to figure out if people were more familiar with the original versions of fairy tales or their Disney counterparts, I interviewed five students at my university, and asked each of them to summarize the story of "The Little Mermaid." Although I expected more people to tell me about the happily ever after Disney version, I was surprised when three of the five students summarized the original Hans Christian Andersen story in which the mermaid dies. Obviously, no conclusive evidence can be drawn from this video; it was just a fun, little experiment I did for my fairy tale blog, "The Beanstalk." www.wordpress.com/brookeandthebeanstalk

To summarize: Is Benjamin Franklin a President? No. Was Benjamin Franklin a President? Still no. Is beyonce pregnant? No. Is beezid a scam? Not technically, but it's definitely a huge rip-off. Is Brett Favre married? Yes. Is Bam Margera married? Yes, technically. Is bleach over? NEVER! Is bronchitis contagious? Oh my, yes. Is black a color? That turns out to be a really interesting question that depends on your definition of "black" and your definition of "color." Is Benjamin Button real? *headdesk* Is Justin Bieber bi or female or a German basketball or 51 years old or headed to North Korea or the proprietor of a free web site? No. In which John asks google questions beginning, "Is b....?"

TOEFL Speaking question 6 part 1 (4 samples)

Here are 3 samples of the TOEFL ibt Speaking question 6. In this question, you are asked to summarize a lecture on an academic topic. From my experience as a teacher, this is one of the hardest questions in the entire test, as it puts your note taking abilities to a test. You have to make sure that you take as much notes as you can, so that when the time to prepare comes, you have a lot of material to work with. As wit all the other questions, you will only hear the lecture once, so it is imperative that you take notes. Most of the time, the lecture provides you with two examples, studies, life experiences etc. Your job is to summarize 1: The main idea of the lecture 2: the two examples provided by the lecturer. 3: Some of the supporting details provided by the professor. You should also try to summarize by paraphrasing the content of the lecture. That is to say find other ways to say the same thing as the professor did. This is supposed to demonstrate your ability to retell information using your own words. So in other words, don't repeat integrally what the lecturer has said. I wish you the best of luck!!! YOU WILL FIND THE TEXTS JUST A LITTLE FURTHER DOWN, AFTER THE INSTRUCTIONS. Here are 3 sample questions for the TOEFL IBT 4th speaking section. As you probably know, the speaking part of the test is divided into 6 different sections. The following video deals with the FOURTH section (Read, listen and summarize). In this question you are required to read a short passage about an academic topic (business, psychology, geology, biology etc.) You then have to listen to a lecture related to that topic. The response pattern is similar to the 3rd question because you have to first summarize BRIEFLY the text and then link it to the professors lecture. Most of the time, the professor will give examples that illustrates the content of the reading passage. The lecturers might give examples from their own lives, or provide examples from experiments that were made, studies that were conducted, etc. Your job is to LINK the text with the examples in the lecture. And here is how you should proceed: 1: You should briefly summarize the content of the reading passage. Basically state the topic and the main idea. 2: You should then get into the lecturers presentation. Remember to start that second part of your answer with a sentence CLEARLY stating that what you are about to say comes from the lecture. Use a sentence like (In the lecture, the professor discusses OR The lecturer suggests two examples in her presentation about) Just make sure that you indicate the transition between the text ...

Summarization 6 Reciprocal Teaching Pt 1

Part 1 of 2 In this segment, the teacher begins by modelling for students a process for engaging with text, which creates a framework to move them toward active, independent and deep comprehension of the material. We then watch students, in their guided reading group as they work through the four stages of reciprocal teaching: predicting, clarifying, questioning and summarizing. In this collaborative environment, students lead each other to develop greater understanding of the text through discussion and reflection.

Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut DLC, The Analogy, and The Choice We Face

This is my intended last ME3 video, for I feel there is little if anything remaining to be said. For those who do not wish to watch the entire video allow me to summarize: The DLC is junk, the attitude from BiowarEA over the entire incident is insulting, and we all now face a choice whether to continue to support them or not. There were two other points I really wanted to talk about that I decided not to cuz the video was too damned long as is so I'll summarize them briefly: A retroactive choice, as I described, does not always mean the choice is right. In fact the rightness or wrongness of it is frankly irrelevant, the POINT of a retroactive choice is that the player is actively guiding the story by their actions and choices, leaving the creative team more freedom in and, frankly, making it easier to have actual branching storylines in a game. The second point is the difference between a tale and a story. ME, 1 and 2, were both fairly believable. A believable story/game/movie/anything is not on that you could see happening in real life, but one that is very self-consistent, such that it feels more like you're seeing events as they happen (in a fictional universe) rather then hearing a tale. There are many examples of this. A TALE is not self-consistent, is something that you could not possibly believe happening even in its own confines and makes you just sort of process it differently, like Paul Bunyon is a tale, or whatnot. ME3 felt very much like a tale instead of a ...

How to Use SAS - Lesson 2 - Creating Datasets on the Fly

Mike's SAS Tutorials Lesson 2 This video series is intended to help you learn how to program using SAS for your statistical needs. Lesson 2 introduces some basic data step programming to define variables and specify their values for data sets containing one or more observations. I also introduce two procedures: the PRINT procedure (PROC PRINT) to display the data contents in the OUTPUT window, and the CONTENTS procedure (PROC CONTENTS) to summarize the data set. Finally, I introduce the concept of libraries to show another method of inspecting the data set by physically opening it from the temporary WORK library. Helpful Notes: 1. PROC PRINT - displays the entire data set by observation in the OUTPUT window 2. PROC CONTENTS - summarizes the properties of a data set, including an alphabetic listing of the variables and a count of the number of observations. 3. The assignment operator ("=") directly specifies the value of a variable in the data step. 4. The INPUT statement defines one or more variables of our data set. 5. The CARDS statement specifies the values for each of the INPUT variables (in order). 6. It is a good rule of thumb to always pair the INPUT and CARDS statements together. 7. DON'T FORGET SEMI;COLONS! They end statements and without them, you will most certainly have errors arise. 8. If you have any errors, always, ALWAYS, ALWAYS check the LOG first! 9. Creating datasets "on-the-fly" just means you're making a new dataset without bringing in the data from ...

Age Less, Live More by Bernando LaPallo 109 Years Old in 2010

Age Less * Live More I met a 108 year old man a few weeks ago at a raw foods potluck. It was validating to see that having a healthy lifestyle can really pay off. Not that he has lived so many years, but because he has lived an active, healthy life for so many years. Bernando LaPallo will be 109 in August this year and does not appear to be anywhere close to transitioning. In a nutshell, Bernando walks 2 miles every day, takes no medication, has a sharp mind, and looks about 60 years young. I don't know many people half his age that can say that. After reading Bernando's book, Age Less, Live More, it was clear to me that going back to basics and common sense is the answer. I have chosen to summarize some of the key points in the book for you. I highly recommend getting Bernando's book as it is an easy read and if your health is important to you, the lifestyle changes are easy to implement. Bernando's spent 60 years as a chef and another 25 years as a licensed massage therapist, relexologist and herbologist. Growing up, Bernando learned quickly from his father to eat food the way it comes, raw (for the most part). He not only lives a healthy lifestyle, but helps others do the same says his daughter Lee Chamberlin (actor/writer). The following are some of Bernando's healthy practices and words of wisdom summarized by me or quoted from his book, Age Less, Live More. Bernando consumes a "near vegetarian" diet. Mostly raw fruits and vegetables but lightly steamed if cooked ...

[YTP] My Little Pony: Fluttershys Genocide

Fluttershy's Genocide: Contains 60 000% more swears, blood, and guns than the legal limit in kids films. Non-profit Youtube Poop! Obviously! ____________________________ Allecyte here. I'm the one responsible for this video. My apologies to Lauren Faust for this. The MLP season is very nicely done, with smooth, simple animation, relatable characters, and solid storylines. Kind of wish the Pokemon anime series still had this flare. Hint hint... Secondly, this movie was more of a test to see how well I could integrate all four Adobe Programs, Premiere, Flash, After Effects, and Soundbooth, together to make a movie into anything I want with any effect I want. All the blood and guns are all coded, with a little frame-by-frame positioning. Otherwise, it took me a relatively short time to do it thanks to the miracles of Actionscript. To summarize, this is my first real video Youtube Poop, and was mainly intended as a test of my movie-making capabilities. So, basically, I would like your criticism, but none of this hour-long everything-in-perfect-negative-detail trash. You think I'd want to sit and listen to you guys ramble on about how much I stink? Trust me, you're doing nobody any good with those video reviews (You may as well make a Youtube Poop instead; takes less time, shows more obvious effort, and much more laughs per minute). Start with the positives, and THEN go into the negatives. None should outweigh the other. Only has to be a summarized paragraph. Simple. Lastly ...

D. Brown - No chaser (traducida español)

Sígueme en twitter! :) twitter.com Lyrics: I feel like a number one song by the way you're requesting me. I feel like you've done me wrong and I wish you'd stop calling. I feel like you're telling the truth when you say you regretted to leave. I feel like you lied to me when you say that you're changing. So go about your way, Really I'm okay. Too many times you're leading me astray, Baby I'm too busy fixing me, To be chasing you around. I try to make a way, But now it's just too late, Don't know why you're texting constantly. How could you really begging me, Saying that you're lonely now? You didn't need me around, Now it burns when it's going down. You gotta drink that lonely straight, Cause I'm no chaser. Missing me will never stop, No better way to summarize You gotta drink that lonely straight, Cause I'm no chaser. No, no, no, no. I'm no chaser. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I would do better to forget ya. I feel like royal majesty, kid of the crown. I feel like you feel I'd take you back, but no lost and found. I feel you got apologies for days, no meaning at all. And I feel you can't reach my level, cause I'm too tall. So go about your way, Really I'm okay. Too many times you're leading me astray, Baby I'm too busy fixing me, To be chasing you around. Touched by a Gypsy - Rom

Because recorded history of the Roma prior to their first documented appearances in Europe in the early 15th century is non-existent, there has been much debate as to their origins and early migration. Based on linguistic evidence (the similarity of the Romany language to Hindi, Panjabi, and related languages of Northern India) and anthropological evidence (body habitus and ABO blood group distributions closely approximating those of the warrior classes of northern India), there is now a clear consensus of opinion that the modern day Roma of the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and the Americas originated in Northwestern India. There is also a general consensus regarding the approximate timing of their emigration, or at least the bulk of it if you believe in more than one wave of emigration - ie in the 11th century. The route(s) and even the number(s) of emigrations are less well agreed upon, although this too is becoming clearer. Some allude to at least several waves of emigration from northern India. There is a persistent belief that several migrations took place between the 10th and 13th centuries, with the first potential migration identified going back to the 5th century. Often quoted and perpetuated is the story of the receipt by Persian monarch, Behram Gour, of 12000 musicians (called Zott, arabicized from Jatt - ancestors of the modern Persian Luris or Lulis) from an Indian king. This story is reported in both Pott's introduction quoting Firdousi and confirmed by ...

Fly - Jason Upton and an Angel - HD

FLY TESTIMONY -- PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Jason Upton and his band were engaged in concert/worship at a college auditorium in Alexandria, Louisiana, when a God incidence miraculously happen while Jason was totally consumed by the Holy Spirit, as so often he is. I'll summarize the testimony of Michael, a band member, below that I heard and watched on a video of his testimony on youtube: Michael, one of Jason's band members, was checking the sound tract equipment recording the concert, when he looked up at the ceiling and saw fog floating around. He figured it was the condenser in the air conditioner creating it. He turned around and asked the janitor what the stuff is floating around the ceiling. The janitor didn't know and stated that there are no pipes up there. A Holy fear came over Michael and immediately lead him to hide under the soundboard. He felt so much God that he knew something was going to come through. All of a sudden, a boy came to Michael while Mike was under the soundboard and, in a very loud voice, told Michael that there was a 12 foot angel with wings on the stage standing directly behind Jason. As I understand it, only the boy could see the angelic apparition. Mind you, also, that Michael or the band members were not singing, as one was under the soundboard and the other was on stage, but not singing himself. Jason was singing the prophecy the Holy Spirit was giving him, and thus, the gathering was not singing, as well. Michael came out from under the ...

How To Tune Drums - by DW's John Good

John Good brings you into the DW Assembly Line to show you how he suggests tuning your drums, regardless of the brand. He tunes 3 different types of drums: Tom @ 0:40 Snare @ 5:14 Bass Drum @ 10:52 John says it best, but to summarize the key points: -Always do one head at a time -Before tightening the tension rods, push hard on the center of the head to "seat/center" the head. You'll hear it crackle, but don't worry, you're not damaging the head. Only breaking it in. -First use only your fingers to tighten the tension rods, tightening opposing rods so that the head seats flat and even. Similar to how you'd tighten lugs on a car wheel. Alternating in a criss-cross pattern. -Once all the rods are finger-tight, it's time to use a key. A couple turns on each, still following a criss-cross pattern, is all you should do per round. Each time you complete a full circle, it's good to listen to where you're at. -Now, each time you complete a round, is when you really do fine tuning. Lightly tap your finger about an inch from the edge of the drum on each rod and listen to hear which rods are higher or lower in pitch from the rest. This is the hardest part, because it takes a very critical ear (that most guitar players don't even have ;). You'll also find that if you come across a rod that is lower than the rest, the one directly across from it is probably also lower. It's good to think of them in pairs. -Continue making rounds with a couple turns on each rod, followed by a round of ...

Mass Effect 3 Ending: My Thoughts, What Could Have Been, What Should Have Been

I know I talk for a bit here but I really wanted to get this idea out there. To summarize for anyone who doesn't feel like watching a 40 minute video: The original story design as laid out by Drew was better imo, the ending as is is terrible in every way for reasons too lengthy to go into, why DLC can't fix the problem, and finally my personal version of how I would have done the finale and endings.

Lazair Electric, Amphibious and Soars Dale Kramer angelica14709

First flight of a Amphibious, Battery powered ultra light aircraft Photos of Lazair with Recip engines at angelica14709.com Tech info www.rcgroups.com One of Dale's posts on rcgroups. As a first report I will summarize what I think I achieved by going to Oshkosh with the worlds first electric seaplane. First, I know that I have inspired a lot of people as I think that I have shown an electric aircraft is practical now, with today's technology. In flying a total of 10 flights, totaling 4.5 hours in the air at Oshkosh, I believe that I flew over ten times longer than any other electric aircraft at Oshkosh this year. Even though I never flew in front of the main crowds, I was still swamped after my flights by the relatively few people that made their way down to the ultralight runway early in the morning or just before dark when I had my time to fly in the ultralight area. Each of my 1/2 hr flights was in the same time-slot as the powered parachutes. I chose these slots because the powered parachutes had a tight flyby circuit. Had I flown in the regular ultralight slot, I would not have been seen but once every ten minutes due to the size of the circuit they were required to fly. As it was, I was able to fly down the ultralight runway every 2 minutes or so at between 100 and 300 feet high. I really must say thanks again to the parachute guys for letting me join them. In each of my 1/2 hr flights I was able to show both gliding and single engine performance of the amphib ...

My Hair Journey 2009-2011

tried to summarize my hair journey for the past 2 years in this video. Hope you guys enjoy and respond with your own videos! I got my length check shirt from maneandchic.spreadshirt.com Nioxin Intensive Therapy Recharging Complex 90 Caplets---I get the ones that are on the nioxin website, they are in a white bottle with a blue circle graphic on the front. I've seen the other bottle with the black label and I dont trust it because that is not on the website. I get mine from Amazon because they are SO cheap! You would pay almost double in the retail stores. Let me know how the work 4 u. FYI you need to use them for at least 30 days to see results IMO.
