How to make a Baby Changing Pad or Mat. Watch as Meg Stone shows us how easy it is to sew a baby's changing mat using very basic sewing skills. It's waterproof! No previous sewing skills required here! Great for beginners and those on a budget. Make it yourself if you can't find the right decor for your baby's nursery! The things you'll need are: Water Resistant Fabric Thick wadding Needle and Thread Sharp Scissors Get yourself a meter (1m x 0.7m) of water resistant fabric, any color you like. Half a meter of thick wadding (0.9 x 0.6), some thread and you're ready to go. Place the wadding on top of the fabric and fold the fabric over so you have three sides ready to stitch with one folded side. Ensure you have about 1 inch of free fabric on each side, cut down if necessary. Remove the wadding and fold the fabric back over so the water resistant surface is inside. Sew along the 2 longest sides. Turn the fabric back inside out so the water resistant side is now on the outside. Stuff the wadding in to create a smooth, bouncy surface. With the unstitched side, pull tightly to make sure the wadding fits snug inside and sew along the seam. For added effect, stitch about 2 inches in from each side to create the centre where your baby can lay down comfortably.

PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION!! -------------------------------------- This video was made specially keeping in mind hundreds of videos on youtube where the tank setups for RES are well below poor!! Please take care of your turtle well!! It's not just a pet, it's a responsibility as well!!! ----------------------------------- A brief explanation of basking area construction : The box is just a wooden storage box you would get in a hobby shop. More like a crate or something. The ramp is just a part of a shampoo/soap stand that you would hang onto your shower. So it is water proof and right size. To connect the ramp onto the box I used a sort of a clip which you stick onto your fridge and stick a pencil into. But I got rid of the magnet and instead nailed that into the box. So instead of the pen, the last rung of the ramp goes into it. To keep the ramp at an angle I used thin wires to hang them (like a castle moat gate). But made sure the wires were thick enough for my babies to see them and not run into them. The crate is deliberately off-balanced outside the tank (so there is no risk of bulbs falling in the tank). But the black mesh thing is wired onto a hook on the tank wall to keep the crate from toppling out.
