Introduction of a tablet with Windows 7 OS is pretty strange as Microsoft's purpose-built Windows 8 release is knocking on the door. But Samsung has taken the outrageous step to launch a Windows 7 based tablet which is actually, more than a tablet. It can be used both as a regular tablet as well as an ultra-portable laptop. Despite having three tablets running Android OS, the shift to a rather stale OS (as far as tablets are concerned) raises some questions, but Samsung believe that its Series 7 Slate PC will be a game changer as it addresses "speed, size and usability" at the same time. Only time will tell whether this was intended for changing the market or Samsung is just warming up for releasing Windows 8 tablet and using this tab as a test case. Samsung Series 7 Slate PC boasts mammoth specs as far as processing speed and power are concerned. A dual-core Core i5 processor with 4GB of RAM has been used in the device to ensure that the tablet runs any OS smoothly. Samsung also claims that the Series 7 slate will boot in under 30 seconds which reminds us more of Linux than Windows and it is said to have around six hours of battery life. Two versions with varying storage have been introduced, the 64 GB version will cost around Rs. 95000 and 128 GB version is expected to cost around Rs. 118000. However, the availability of Slate PC in Pakistan has not been introduced and it is expected that the Slate will be available with local vendors before official release by Samsung <b>...</b>
