HISTORYCar production in the Moravian town of Kopřivnice dates back to 1850 when Ignác Šustala founded a family company to manufacture coaches and carriages of his own design. 1880s brought a profound change in transport.The uncomfortable carriages were replaced incrementally by rail transport. Šustala´s company built some new facilities to produce its first 15 railcars in 1882.An important milestone came in 1897 when the company built the first passenger car in Central Europe, the "Präsident, and in 1898 when the first lorry was produced here. The lorry of payload 2,5 t was driven by two, rear-housed Benz engines, and was a basis for Tatra truck production for the years to follow.A major contribution to the TATRA tradition was made by the ingenious designer Hans Ledwinka, who in 1923 introduced the T 11 car to thepublic. The car design concept was truly revolutionary-the car was built over a backbone tube, carrying swinging half-axles in the rear. This design idea became famous as " the tatra chassis design" that has been used since.Between WWI and WWII car designers at Kopřivnice worked intensively on a world novelty - the first series-made streamlined passenger car with a monocoque body and rear-housed air-cooled engine. The T77 was introduced to the public on March 5th, 1934. In the same year the name TATRA was officially registered as the company´s trade name.The third milestone in 1934 was the aircraft production startup in TATRA. Typisches Merkmal der schweren Lastwagen ist die Einzelradaufhängung sowie luftgekühlte Motoren. Die LKW haben V8 und V12-Motoren und Getriebe mit bis zu 20 Gängen. Die bekannteste Baureihe, die auch hier im Film zu sehen ist, ist das Allrad-Frontlenkerfahrzeuge vom Typ 813, das 1967 vorgestellt wurde. Das zweite Modell im Film ist ein Tatra 815 mit einem 8x8 Antrieb und einer Leistung von 347 PS. Das Fahrzeug hat ein Gewicht von 15t hat und verbraucht im Gelände bis zu 250l Diesel aus einem 520 Liter-Tank.

WOW, Is she grand...the car, too! "What was that at 1:10??", someone asked. "Well, if it wasn't something orange/black, then it was "THE TATRA GIRL". She's a huge...a, fan! (which is only fair, as she herself is huge and has many fans...including, apparently, the ladies at the very end.) As a sidelight, it's note worthy to point out that quite recently, while I was balancing on one leg (only having one), a most kind gent of my faded memory ("JFW"?) , may have whispered in my good ear that rumor has it that this demure damsel finds herself the subject of a fierce bidding war betwix the various vintage motorcar racing organizations to act as their Official Trophy Girl (OTG). It's said that a part of her duties will be to "signal" Morse-code style, with her chest, the car positions during each event...to the hard-of-hearing-folks...and other fans! Sound module for Tatra 130
First outdoor test of my freshly developed sound module for my RC Tatra 130. The sound module is much more than just a sound generator - it is a real-time V8 engine simulator. It does not use engine samples, as commercially available sound modules do, but it simulates every cylinder and its corresponding sound. The sound is also mixed with a ventilator sound, that is so characteristic for air-cooled Tatra vehicles. This gives me the opportunity to create realistic sound for almost any situation of the real vehicle - any revolutions, any amount of throttle, engine braking, even realistic downshift with throttle. ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF SPOKEN TEXT According to the old slovak legend, when God created Earth, he instructed his angels to spread the beauty to the most distant regions around the world. The youngest angel decided to take a shortcut over the high mountain range, however due to the heavy burden could not fly above, bumped to the sharp mountain peak and spilled all the splendour across the surrounding walleyes. That mountain peak is called Kriváň up to these days (lib. translation- „Crooked mountain- symbol of Slovak national sovereignty and protection of its historical identity). Overtimes magical tales and legends, horror stories about wild beats kept people from invading deep carphatian forests. So It seems as the old magical spells are still giving affect, so if the High Tatras were wilderness frozen in time. Slavic tribes always called this place as „Rock land, which originated in Proto-Slavic word „TATRY.
