"Authorities have denied reports that they used flash bang canisters to help break up the crowds, saying the loud noises came from large firecrackers thrown at police by protesters." twitter.com October 25, 2011 — OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Dozens of police in riot gear and hundreds of protesters in support of the Occupy Wall Street movement engaged in a game of cat-and-mouse in downtown Oakland on Tuesday, with authorities using tear gas to respond to demonstrators' repeated agitations. The latest such skirmish came around 10:30 PDT as some protesters began throwing bottles among a crowd that had reconvened in front of City Hall, where a haze of chemical smoke still hung in the air following a similar clash at the site about an hour earlier. It was the fourth time police used tear gas in three hours. Authorities have denied reports that they used flash bang canisters to help break up the crowds, saying the loud noises came from large firecrackers thrown at police by protesters. Police also report being attacked with rocks. City Hall has been the site of conflict throughout the day. Authorities used a pre-dawn raid to dismantle an Occupy Wall Street encampment that had taken over a plaza outside the government headquarters for more than two weeks. Police removed about 170 demonstrators who had been staying in the area overnight after repeatedly being warned that such a camp was illegal and they faced arrest by remaining. Tear Gas in 1971 is: Alex Harvey David Batchelor - Lead vocals Zal Cleminson - Guitar Ted McKenna - Drums Chris Glen - Bass Love Story lyrics: Going back in the morning time to see if my love has changed her mind, yeah. I know what I will find that she is wasting time, she could be picking roses. Going back in the morning time to see if my love has seen the light, yeah. Oh, I told her last night she should improve her sight, she could be painting the roof. Going back in the morning time to see if my love has come around, yeah. She offered me no sound, her head is in the ground, She could be calling for winter.

Abby Martin of Media Roots went out to cover the immediate aftermath of the brutal police raid of Occupy Oakland at 6:20 am on October 25, 2011. 500+ Oakland PD used tear gas, rubber bullets and completely leveled two encampments of peaceful protestors practicing civil disobedience. 90+ protestors were then arrested. Whatever happened in Oakland, California this morning wasn't pretty. A reporter on location was tipped off by a city official that at 4:30am (pst) the police were going to show up to clean up the park filled with protestors. A raid. At that time, the mainstream media outlets were already on stand by ready to capture the footage. The police didn't have the right to kick anyone out especially during hours in which the park is open to the public, but knowingly, they still went through with their orders. One officer was asked by a bystander if he feels good about what he's doing and if he's going to tell his grandchildren about these times. The officer replied with, "I'm just following orders."
