www.youtube.com This is a video of me messing around with some construction paper. I cut it, tear it, shear it, and generally just make sounds with it. I hope it's relaxing. I enjoyed making this one quite a bit actually. I've been trying to upload these two videos for a day and a half now. I don't know what youtube's problem is, but it's taking more than 12 hours to move files that used to take me 3 or 4. Anyway, onward. This is actually an older video that I shot before I made the sand one. You'll notice actually that there's a piece of black construction paper on the table for the sand video, it's a sheet from this stack. It took me a long time to post it because it required editing in Premiere Pro, which is a program that is way more intelligent than I am. It's taken me time just to figure out how to do the simple things that were easy in Movie Maker. But now that I've got a few basic steps figured out, and I made the edits that I wanted to make for this one, I'm posting it up. I have one more video that's even older, but it requires an even yet more complicated edit. Once I figure out how to do that, I'll post it too.

Here is a transcription for those that can't turn their speakers up. Hello again, I'm Joe with Cheap Joe's and today I would like to show you about how to use artist tape. Lots of people use artist tape and some folks tell me that when they do use it, it tends to tear their paper up when they take the tape off. I'm going to show you how to use it and not tear the paper off. It's a very useful masking type fluid product without using masking fluid. What I have here is a roll of the artist tape. Its acid free and its archival type stuff, which probably wouldn't matter too much. You take the tape and instead of directly putting it on the paper from the roll, be sure you put it on a piece of clothing like that or you can put it on your pants or wherever. And then take it off and put it on your painting where you're going to be painting. Never put it directly from the roll of tape to your painting because that's the point that it may tear the paper. This way it will stay on there. Move it up that way, have a little wrinkle in it won't matter. Put it down on the paper just like that and that's the way you want to tape it. I take my artist tape and I peel off whatever amount I think I need. I'm going to do this stretch right up through here. I have it here and instead of putting it directly on the paper and then taking it off, I'm actually going <b>...</b>

I noticed that there was no decent tutorial out there for making a paper crossbow that didn't utilize rubber bands. This is what I came up with as a result. The crossbow is actually quite durable in design and should stand up to use for for a very long time so long as it doesn't get wet. Hopefully a good deal of office boredom can be solved with this. The working mechanism for this crossbow is in the arms made of rolled paper and supported by tape. Typically a bent tube of rolled paper would tear when bent, but a layer of tape seems to distribute the load evenly enough to not only prevent the paper from tearing, but also give it a strong and fast spring action when released. This allows for a rigid bow string to be used which utilizes the energy in the arms to propel the projectile - Rather than most toy crossbows which use rigid arms and an elastic band which propels the bolt more like a slingshot than a crossbow. This crossbow can throw a pencil or pen a good 100 feet. A possible modification for even more power might be to make two arms on each side that the bow string would tie together at the tips. Having double arms is about the only way to go about adding more power because adding much more paper to the first set will only result in them tearing or being completely rigid. Similar to how you can only fold a piece of paper so many times. Have fun! Don't take an arrow to the knee.
