Many times parents and friends of a suicidal teen will not see these signs because the do not know how devastating depression can be for a teen. Reach out and make a difference in a child's life.........talk to them and tell them that you are there for them. If you suspect that your friend or child is depressed get them good help from a professional, it might just save their life. But most importantly listen to them with your heart and mind.

Horrifying screams as teenage girl reacts with a tantrum at mom and stepdad after being caught on the phone with a boy at 12:30 am. She was told to hang up the phone and take her daily shower. The episode lasted much longer than this clip. She has previously threatened suicide and has tried to run away twice..She hits walls, kicks floors, throws objects, lies daily and steals property from the home. We are concerned that she is on the path to a diagnosis of "conduct disorder" as she grows older and will soon become a danger to our baby boy or her 13 year old step sister. She has struggled with mother and stepdad on occasions when she trys to run out of the house. We have been advised by Doctors to call 911 next time this happens. This is a very hard decision to make. She has been diagnosed with "oppositional defiant disorder" and depression but is not responding to treatment. Can anyone give a good referral in the Dallas area for psychiatric services? Tips and opinions from parents will be appreciated. One thing we HAVE learned is that ODD is a "real" diagnosis resulting from genetics and early childhood trauma / instability. The child must be diagnosed and treated early with professional counseling and alot of love. If allowed to progress, CONVENTIONAL PARENTING METHODS WILL NOT HELP....Nurturing and responsiveness lead to gross abuse of bounderies such as lying, stealing and property damage while the "Tuff Love" approach brings about tantrums, suicide threats and <b>...</b>
