I got a very similar feeling playing this game as I did when I first played Shadow of the Colossus. It's very special.

This is my little brother playing Flower. The game is made by "That game company" thatgamecompany.com It is the only video game he can play because of his condition. He has down syndrome and can not speak, so it is not possible for him to understand and solve complex problems by himself. So this game is perfect because it is so simple and you cannot be gameover. It really stimulates his cognitive thinking. I am quite amazed by how fast he was able to understand the game mechanics just after 3-4 plays. He would not really be consciously present to begin with. He would look at the screen and then do something else(Like teasing me. Which he loves to do;) but then he slowly caught on to the fact that he somehow controlled it. Now is his actions much more focused. He is usually more active and loud and laughing. I don't think he likes to be filmed:)

Game innovator Kellee Santiago insists that games are more than entertainment. They are art. As a student in the MFA Interactive Media program at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, Kellee's research focused on game design, interactive narrative, and physical and gestural interfaces for digital media. She has produced and managed a number of interactive projects including "I'm Gonna Kill the President! A Federal Offense" at PS122, and "The Angel Project" at Lincoln Center. While at USC, she teamed up with fellow student Jenova Chen to develop the student-created game, "Cloud." Muzzafuzza Plays Random Video Games Flower That Game Company Thatgamecompany Jenova Chen PS3 Playstation Network Live Gameplay Commentary Gaming

Simple, elegant and beautiful are only three words I could use to describe thatgamecompany's excellent Playstation Network exclusive, Flower. Flower is free from the obtuse rules and challenges that often dominate today's games, and instead focuses on encouraging players to just enjoy themselves. Using the PS3's SIXAXIS motion controllers, players control a flower petal on a gust of wind. As the petal passes by other flowers, they blossom and add a single petal to the gust of wind (which eventually becomes an impressive colorful ribbon). As key flowers blossom, the environment changes and opens new areas. It's easy to pick up and understand, and the intuitive controls make Flower a joy to play. The best part about Flower is its deceptively epic narrative. The first couple of levels are like playgrounds to become acquainted with the game. But as the game progresses, something sinister becomes apparent, and it culminates in a brilliant final level. And it's all contextual. No overly long cutscenes or dialog here. Just an incredible design that no one with a PS3 should miss.
